Gamespot score:8.0(great)

my score:8.2

(+)pros:- incredibly fun and crazily intense boss fights,-much satisfication after beating a boss,- levels are fun to play,- fun and humourous at the same time,- quirky story for the laughs,- voice acting is pretty good.

(-)cons:- prepare to get owned the more stages you clear,- controls can be abit slow for a 2D platformer.

Gameplay time:10-20 hours( below average)

Time for the re-do review of prinny can I really be the hero? Those who played disgaea will definetely find this game peculiar, since you are playing as prinny! In the original game prinnies were like....nothing but a bunch of slaves which were usually commanded by etna. They are usually nothing worth and are most of the time just thrown at enemies for damage, since prinnies explode when thrown. In this game, you play a prinny as the main character, who wont explode when thrown. Cool eh? Hes like THE prinny. Enough of my ranting, time to get started on the review.

The story for this game is quirky and funny. You play as a prinny, one of many who serve under etna, the demon queen(or princess, I cant clearly remeber). So one day as usual she gets really mad at the prinnies for being late or screwing something up, so she goes blasting her head of and starts kicking the prinnies to explode them. And yeah the prinnies beg for forgiveness, and etna wants the ultra dessert if she is to forgive them. Kinda stupid asking for a desert as an apology....so she gives you, a certain scarf, to prevent you from exploding, and orders you to go after the ingredients for ultra desert. So with all the others prinnies rooting for you, you are to set out to 6 different netherworlds to get the ingredients for ullllttrrraaa deeessseeerrt!

Prinny is a 2D platformer action game. If you need an example of those kind of games you can always look at the original megaman. So you choose one of the 6 netherworlds, play through the level, beat the boss, and the boss will surrender an ingredient to ultra desert to you. Each time you clear a stage the next one you play will get harder and the boss may change. That means there are a variety of levels to experiment, since you can choose the order of the stages you want to go in. Thats quite a lot of possibilities considering that there are 6 netherworlds. The stages are well designed and fun to play. Flying carpets, enemies heading towards you, stationery cannons, huge pitfalls..... its great. To top it off, theres a sort of metal slug feel to it, tanks and whatjimatrics, you can pilot them. Its cool.

Thats not it. Whenever you play through a fun stage, you havent tasted the best part. Thats right, the most rewarding and satisfying feature in prinny is the boss fights. Prinny bosses are great, they require you to trial and error a few times before you can beat them. Cause if you play normal mode you can only take 3 hits before you die, and bosses' attacks usually take up quite abit, altough no matter how flashy or powerful the attack looks it always only does one damage, but thats enough to kill you in hard mode. Unlike normal enemies bosses cant be killed normally, spamming air slashes will only get you so far as to doing only lines of damage to the enemies entire health bar.You need to find thier weakness, exploit it, and they become more vunerable to your attacks since after exploiting a boss's weakness, it will be stunned. These usually takes a few tries, like 3-5 times, but the insanely hard ones take more than 10. But this is what makes beating the boss to satisfactory.

Prinny is a fun game and all, but as I said the later you play on, the levels get more difficult. The final few netherworld selections are usually hell to the player. The levels get ridiculous, with more powerful and annoying enemies coming to swarm at you, or with huge pitfalls with almost no foot steppings. Its damn annoying when you try to jump from 1 flying carpet to another, when the other carpet is so damn far away! And to make things even worse, there is this one guy that is so out of your reach, but he's throwing blades at you! When you finally get the timing right and make the jump, he flings a blade at you and hits you down to the pitfall below. See how annoying that it? Also the later bosses are deadly, those are the ones that will likely take you 10 tries to beat.
b
Other than its steeply increasing difficulty, prinny also has rather slow and somewhat quirky controls. He sort of falls pretty slowly and timing your falls and jumps can be quite hard and frustrating at times. As for the bottom line for this game, " hard but satisfying", its a great experience overall. Not just for disgaea fans but everyone should be able to play and enjoy this.

Happy gaming.

Wolfteam-destruction types

Time for more wolfteam. Today Im going to talk about the various kinds of destruction modes. Basically I think theres 3 types, normal, S2 and perhaps classic. Classic Im not too sure, its been awhile since I played.
b
b
Tips
b
- Destruction games usually have lots of pros, dont go in one unless the players are of normal rank or you think you are up to par in terms of skill.
b
- Its most of the time better to play as blue team, since they spawn near bomb zones and can camp for easy pickings, of course there are some maps in which red team will benefit more.
b
- Destruction maps seem to be more open, so try not to walk around with wolf as much. Destruction pros tend to be human for almost the entire match, unless when moving through small and narrow areas.
b
- Camping always helps, no matter what team you are on. Try to play camp instead of running around. Of course if you belong to red team you have to move out of your cover and head to plant the bomb if the timer hits below 1min to 40 seconds.
b
- Guns to use mostly revolve around good guns that can kill at desirable range, snipers work well too. Dont go picking shotguns cause they will most likely screw you over.
b
- Lobbing nades as red team are great ways to deal damage or rack kills. Since blues usually camp around thier bomb sites lobbing nades there are great ways to mess up thier plans.
b
-As blue team campers, do not attack any reds on sight when they come into your vision in the bomb site. Attack only when they start planting, cause that way when they are shot they will usually get suprised or shocked and will have no way to attack you back. This mostly will get you kills, but in the worst case scenerio they will escape.
b
-As reds, when you see someone on your team planting a bomb, please be at least a bit courteous and provide some cover. Many a time have I seen reds die when planting bombs cause of insufficient cover. Of course dont go blocking the planters way cause when they are shot they will want to run, dont block thier only escape route.
b
- RLs work wonders, for both sides. Reds can fire rockets into spots where you think blues are camping. Blues can fire when seeing a red plant a bomb and when you notice a few providing the planter cover. Of course this is only if you dont mind getting a few vulgars being thrown in your face.
b
- In S2 mode, humans are at disadvantage most of the time so only be on red if you think you are up to task.
b
- In S2 humans must be extra careful, since you never kow where ghosts are lurking around. Ghosts are the main cause for most S2 human deaths.
b
- In S2 the reds should NOT plant unless they are fully confident that the bomb will ensure thier win. A gurdian can easily walk out in plain sight and disarm the bomb no problem, even with everyone firing at his ass he wont die in that 8 or 9 seconds required to disarm the bomb. Ghosts will once again cause trouble here since they are also invisible when defusing bombs.
b
- In S2 reds should stay away from each other. Yes. Provide cover but do it at a further distance, since wolves can chain kills easily.
b
- S2 blues have it easy, camping in corridors or anywhere under the sun as ghosts equals easy wins. Having a full ghost team makes the match laughable. Of course hide in less obvious spots since nades completely destroy your plan.
b
- S2 blues should use power wolf whenever they are short on WP for any special wolf.
Dont spend it on unneccesary stuff like smart wolf or pyscho since they are not particularly useful.
b
- Berserkers make kamikaze the perfect word to describe them. If you see humans stupid enough to stick closely together, charge go up to thier face and just let go. Boom. Instant 2-3 kill streak. An honourable sacrifice indeed. Of course if you see such an opportunity but from the back, you can just mosy your way to thier backsides and poke thier asses to hell.
b
- Smarts, pyschos are useless in S2. Ghost 2 too in certain ways, it serves as an annoyance. The only wolves you would want to use truthfully are ghost, power and gurdian. Berserker and ice are for support only.
b
- Everyone on blue should save for gurdian in S2, then blow it all on one match. That match will most likely be a sure win.
b
Thats it for now. Next time will be on pyscho wolf.
b
Peace.

Time crisis 4

Gamespot score:n/a

my score:7.0

(+)Pros:- exciting and intense most of the time,- same enjoyable time crisis formula, -looks pretty good in terms of graphics,- good boss fights as usual.

(-)cons:-no new weapons from time crisis 3,-"terror bites" are lame,- extremely token consuming for many players and is not worth it.

gameplay cost: 2 tokens( not worth)

Been awhile since I have done an arcade game review, since most suck and waste your time. Well since I havent done an arcade review for soooo long I decided to just throw one game in and do it. And that game is time crisis 4. As many know time crisis is a long running series, I played all thier games and I'll say this is probably the worst. All time crisis games were great , execpt for this one, which just hit the mark. It doesnt feel...time crisis like.
b

I dont and will not pay attention to arcade game storylines, so no outline for stories. Take not that this only applies to arcade games. Cost wise, 2 tokens, is shit. This game is not worth 2 tokens. Altough most shooters in the arcade are 2 tokens worth, this one just shits all the way. This game will probably eat many people alive in the 2nd area of the 1st stage, unless you are really really good. I dont recommend rushing this game with tokens, you will die alot, and its really not worth your money.
b

b
b

b
b
Gameplay is the same as all the time crisis games, mostly similar to 3. Yeah you get your paddle, so when you are shooting enemies, you hit the paddle with your foot to come out of cover, which you then fire at enemies. You let go of the paddle to go back into hiding, as well as to reload. And you do this until all enemies on screen are dead, and move to the next screen. Of course the game wont be called time crisis without time urgency, so theres a time limit for each screen of enemies you are given. Not too hard to understand hmm?

b
b
b
b
b
On screen, the graphics are pretty great. Enemies, areas, blah blah blah. They all look great. And when shooting them, as usual, enemies will keep missing you, only when you see a red shot on screen, then you go back to hide. Like always, only the red shots hit you, missles, melee guys are the same. So take out the red enemies asap. But in this game there is a new addition to the enemy team, terror bites. Insect like swarms that will do whatever it takes to take life out of you. Every time they appear they never fail to at least take 1 life in one screen encounter. They are lame and totally dont belong in a time crisis game.

b
b
b
b

Another thing to mention is that there are no new weapons since the 3rd game. Aside from the pistol, the sub machine gun, shot gun and grenade launcher, there is nothing else. This is the exact same weapon roster from the 3rd game.Bummer man.
This shows how lazy the game makers were -.-". Aside from that the game stays exciting and intense most of the time. With you sruggling to choose which weapon to use against a swarm of enemies of terror bites, when the timer is still ticking away mercilessly. However its mot unlikely that one will run out of time, but if one does 1 life will be deducted everytime your timer hits 0. This intensitivity easily increases when you are playing with a friend....or with even more friends watching the both of you play. Its a good feeling.
b
b

Ovberall as an opinion, time crisis 4 totally doesnt have the special "feel" that the 1st 3 games emit. It is a good game, but if it is priced as much as the place I am playing at, one shouldnt give it a go. Time crisis 4 should be played only when you have nothing else good to burn on, or if you are just giving it a try.

New super mario bros

Gamespot score:9.0(editor's choice)

my score:8.2

(+)pros:- gorgeously redone graphics to fit the DS,- a huge improvement from its old retro and many past counterparts,- fun and enjoyable to almost anyone,- new extra cool features,- plays extremely well

(-)cons:-too easy,- extremely linear at times

gameplay time:10-20 hours(below average)

This was one of my early DS games so I may have forgotten many stuff about it and may not be "right on the spot" for this one. Yeah to start off this is the old mario that every one knows and loves. Kappas, mushrooms , bowsers and lots of bricks. Yap its mario all right, but its been extremely well remade and been put into the DS. Just a foreword comment, all the world's game sites are overating this, Im really sure. Maybe its cuz all the reviewers like old school mario? Oh well.

Okay. Story wise all those who played old school marios will know it all too well. Princess peach gets kidnapped, blah blah blah, you are to go to rescue her from bowser, but she just keeps getting caught over and over again boss after boss mario defeats. Its really no diff. If this is the 1st time you have played mario you will find the story abit lame and at times annoying, since boss after boss she just keeps getting pulled away by that annoying bastard that always appears out of nowhere. But for old school mario players you shud be used to this so it shouldnt affect you much. Well anyway mario is all about its platforming gameplay, not much to its story.

Well gameplay wise you get...almost anyting a 2D platformer has. Well 1st I'd like to comment about how well nintendo did on the remake. Graphics are gorgeous for the DS, no lags no shits, and it plays very well. Great job nintendo. Everything looks really refined and well detailed in 3D for this game. As the player you really should appreciate the looks for this game, absolutely awesome.

Well lookie here its bowser again. Yap he looks great, but he still falls pretty easily. About gameplay, you get to sprint, jump crouch ,jump on stuff, butt stomp..... yada yada yada. Thats what mario is all about. Anyway you also get this cool new feature that lets you keep all mushrooms you get in extra and store it. You can then use it anytime you want when you are in a pinch, or when you just want to use it for your own purposes. This is my favourite of the new features. More on that later on. Well, altough well remade, mario still remains as an extremely linear game with extremely linear levels and objectives. Not to pry, but levels can be cleared easily without backtracking or moving to other side areas, like its old counter parts. But once again, its mario after all.

Yahoo, check out big mario. Yeah another new feature is the huge mario. Some times you hit a brick, and out pops a gigantic mushroom. Touch it and mario becomes gundam sized and is able to step on anything that stands in front of him. Cool eh? And luigi too, I cant remember what he's there for, but I know its some thing new added to the game. These 2 new features aside, I have to say that the game is too easy. Easier than the retro mario actually, for some reason. You can clear the stage without dieing, no kid. But once awhile you come across a different obstacle thats need to be crossed with a different approach, only then you will die probably once or twice, but after that you can just clear it no problem. The bosses are terribly simple too.

Overall I think mario is overated everywhere. But that doesnt change the fact that I still think mario is a great game. Should be checked out by everyone, since almost everyone of any age can just jump straight to the game and get hooked to it till the very end.

Happy gaming.

Marvel vs capcom 3 announced

Holy shit.

I wanted to review new super mario bros today, but I see its actually not possible. Well I finished school early today, about 10 am, so after a quick breakfast with my frens I came home to chill out. I turned on my CPU to check gamespot for updates, as usual......and I was astounded to hell.

Yeah on the site headlines I saw the words "marvel vs capcom 3", I thought to myself that it was probably a rumour or shit, but when I clicked it and watched the teaser trailer....it just wasny funny anymore.

It was epic.

Yeah its confirmed, marvel vs capcom 3 is coming out Q2 2011. Yeah thats a long ass time but I only got 1 thing to say. WOHOOO. 10 years, 10 godamn years since marvel vs capcom 2, and marvel vs capcom 3 is coming. The world has ended, I have seen the light.

No doubt I will get this you can bet your ass on it, unless reviews suck, but it most probably wont.

crash twinsanity

Gamespot score:7.3(good)

my score:7.5

(+)Pros:- good humourous fun,- playing as nina or cortex adds more gameplay variety,- many types of levels and concepts,- good boss fights,- challenging enough to entertain veterans

(-)cons:- working with cortex is lame plotwise,-quite short for a crash bandicoot game,- many unwelcome gameplay tweaks

gameplay time: 10-20 hours(below average)

Been quite a while since my last review, busy with poly and all. Okay, after being delayed for more than a week or so, heres crash twinsanity. Being a long time crash game player, I did love all crash games on the PS1( yes even crash bash), but when crash hit the PS2, he began to suck. I think this is the only good crash PS2 game, the rest are just not up to standards, even nitro cart. Yes we all know crash has undergone huge downfalls since the PS2, but then in twinsanity, he gained back a gleam of hope, for a moment anyway. Okay on to the review.

Cant remember much story since the last time I played this was long ago. I do recall at the start of the game there was a short scene before the title screen popped out that said "3 years later" and showed cortex and uka uka being frozen in an ice block. I cant remember why they got frozen....anyway, yeah so cortex was for some reason unfrozen and wants to, as usual, get revenge on crash. Well after another failed attempt and a series of stupid events, they run into some evil space birds who want to destroy crash's island. So.....hmmm, yeah. Usual cranked up crash bandicoot story, noone can complain. So cortex and crash work together to stop them, and later nina too, cortex's niece.

Visual wise its like many crash games on PS2, more or less the same. But yeah as one can see the icons in game have changed a fair bit. They now look more....cartoon-ish, especially crash's amount of lives left. Funky. Other than that, one will notice straight off the bat, the stage select thing is no longer in the game. Yeah I loved that personally, but they removed it, why? Now the game is more adventure style, moving from island to island, stage to stage. This isnt as good as the stage select thing, but at least its a new way to play the game, it was still pretty good fun.

Ok more on gameplay, you get your basic crash controls, but now your get to work with cortex too. You get to fling him to far afreas to activate switches, smash him into the floor in front of you to flatten your opponents in front, or just spin him into nitros to clear the way. You get to do many things with him but working with crash is the last thing cortex wud actually want to do, Im not sure why he would want to force himself to work with his arch enemy. Well you can play as cortex too, and his niece nina. Cortex is like a gunner, shooting lasers left and right, and requires ammo. Kinda un fitting in a crash game but yeah its interesting to use him. Nina on the other hand, is like another crash with more variety. She can spin, but also lock onto hooks or ledges and swing there with her connectable arms. Shes is the most fun to play as I can recall, but yeah you can also use a robot at the final boss fight. Opps, spoilers.

Well other things to mention are, the different variety of gameplay. Most are fun, especially the ones with you pressing switches to activate pathways for cortex when he is running maniacly foward. That is incredibly funny. Also you get the skateboarding thing with cortex as your skateboard, this is fun too, especially in the final island. The rolling levels where crash and cortex fight and start rolling around are fun too. The many new varieties of gameplay sure are welcome, but they are mostly the cause of the new difficulty curve. The game has become quite hard. It may be seemingly easy at first, but the later stages will eat your lives alot, especially the academy level. Not to mention that the bosses in this game are a tad harder than many crash games, but I wun complain about the bosses, since the harder they are the better it is.

Crash hasnt seen good days when he came to the PS2, but twinsanity has given him back some of his action. Twinsaniy is a good game, a good old crash bandicoot adventure that is fun, homourous and a whole ton of nonsensicle bullshit, but thats what crash is about. Crash fans should give this a whirl.

Happy gaming.

Yeah since the establishment of this blog, I have been giving all my games at least a 7.0 or more, with expection of the fucked up maplestory of course, since that was a request. Well from now on, at random, I will be posting about games that will NOT be posted in my blog, just to give info to those hoping for such a game to be posted here. Yeah I have my reasons.

PS2

Crash of the titans

A disgrace to the crash series. And after this was mind over mutant, which was about the same. I really dont like where the crash bandicoot series is going, thier last good game was twinsanity. Ever since crash came to the PS2, it sucked. Twinsanity was good, but the rest were lame. Especially this one. Crash, punching enemies? Picking up wumpa fruit to heal HP? Crash having HP? Hijacking monsters? Yeah, doesnt sound like crash at all. Looks like we wont be having old school crash anymore.

Crash bandicoot: wrath of cortex

I think this is the 1st crash game to hit the PS2. 1 word. Lame. Packed with insane load times, lousy level and enemy design, this game really disappoints. And the bosses are all the same guy, with different masks. That is uber dumb. One can see the effort the developers tried to put in this, but its just not working out. Disappointing, very disappointing.

Megaman X8

A really really bad step taken by the capcom. Megaman X7 with good, though the old formula used in the PS1 was more welcome. In megaman X8, they took the X7 formula and tried to improve it, only to fail drastically. Linear levels, boring enemy and stage designs, and the way the game plays is just so..... un-megaman-ish. Definetely not a game worthy of the megaman X series.

PSP

Rengoku

Another lame game that looked fun. Dont like it, never will. Climbing a tower with all those in-game conditions sounded fun, but if the battle system is so crappy, how could one ever like this game? I'd say this game is a total fail, I couldnt bother to try the 2nd one.

Aedis eclipse:generation of chaos

I'll say it, I was looking foward to this. But this really let me down. This game is boring, the battle system is unappealing, the characters are annoying, and the story is pretty mediocre. I couldnt bare to play more than 2-3 hours of this game, I am a RPG person, but this is just damn inferior compared to many others out there.

Riveria:the promised land

Another disappointing game. The battle system is incredibly old school, and isnt nice to watch. Kinda sad though, this game got pretty good ratings all over, but to me I just cant seem to get into it. It was pretty meh to me. And once again this is really sad cause the story was sounding kinda cool altough I didnt play the game for long. I doubt I will be replaying this anytime.

NDS

SNK vs Capcom: card fighters DS

Another lame ass game. This one is really pathetic. I was kinda interested as a fan of capcom games, but after playing for abit I found this game to be a total waste of my time. The cards are nice. Its good to see all your favourite SNK or capcom characters on cards in your deck, but the playing system is really pathetic. It looks like a magic the gathering wanabe game, with really really lame rules. It just isnt worth a players time to play this game, end of speech.

Tokyo beat down

Guh, a boring brawler that is, in fact..... once again a waste of time. Brawling is slow, stiff, and uninteresting. Its the same moves over and over, plus the story sux. The characters are also pretty shitty looking and to play as them are nothing but pure bleh. Another game that shouldnt be played by others, unless you are a hardcore brawler fan.

Glory of heracles

Besides the good visuals, the battle system is slow and boring. Really sad though, was really looking foward to this at the time of its release. Well I guess not all games are good. This one really stinks, the game is generally very easy and battle is nothing but a chore. Whats more the story doesnt get interesting until really later on. Once again this a game I didnt finish , but made it to at least the halfway point.

PC

Asda story

Childish game that is a waste of everyone's time. Nothing in this game looks cool, badass or sexy. Soul mate system is good, but the fighting styles of characters are lame and the skills are weak, in terms of presentation of course. This looks like a game more for kids, as everything has a sort of "cute" feel to it.

Soldier front

OMG dont mention this game at all. I was introduced to play this by my friend once, and all my friends were playing this. For whatever reason I dont know why.....I was hooked to this game once. I REALLY DONT KNOW WHY. Looking back I thought I was kinda dumb since one, visuals suck shit, two, theres no blood, and three, there are many stupid things in the game, such as instantly dieing when touching the surface of the sea. Seriously, what the hell. Dont play this.

There are many more games I dislike out there, but there are too many to list I will continue next time. Poly starts tommorow, suck shit man.

Peace.

Opening songs-OP 1: shut up and explode, OP 2: back on my feet
b
genre:sci-fi, action,drama,adventure

Alright as promised here's the plot review for xamd:lost memories. Not much to say expect that it was a good show. Not great, just good. It was good streaming with this one all the way, thought I would give it up halfway, but towards the end it just gets better, I couldnt stop. I doubt theres a 2nd season, and I wouldnt want one anyway, the ending fits well, and they shouldnt ruin it. Normal show with a decent amount of episodes to boot, I dont see why this is bad.
b
b
Sorry no pics today, couldnt find pics with shut up and explode and back on my feet. Both songs are good, and both are by the same artist boom boom satelite. As an opening, back on my feet has the more "epic" vibe to it. But as a full song, shut up and explode sounds more addictive. As an overall prefrance, I prefer shut up and explode as a song, but I prefer back on my feet as an opening.
b
b
Plot:7.5/10
b
How is this show. Great? Bad? I'd say somewhere in between. This show picks up at a good pace but folds rather slowly at the beginning but picks up well at the middle. Towards the end the show gets very intense and interesting, making us viewers want to watch more and more until the end comes. Well unlike many shows the ending isnt rushed and is perfectly paced, so I dont blame anyone. The ending is pretty okay to boot, no cliffhangers or other weird shit.
b
b
Yeah, well this shows speaks about the distant future I guess, with the main character, akiyuki,'s island at war. One day whilst attending school his school bus gets attacked by an unknown entity, and infects akiyuki with a hiruko, turning him into a xamd, while his island at that time is being constantly under fire by enemy humanform weapons. The show may sound very complex and complicated with all the funny terms, but it all falls into place and the show explains all these terms rather well. In any case akiyuki is seperated by his island friends furuichi and haru, and gets carried away by some unknown girl by the name of nakiami. After getting to know nakiami and her ship mates, akiyuki then sets off on a mission to try and reunite himself with his friends and family at the island, not knowing that he is indeed wanted back at his island. An epic adventure unfolds as akiyuki tries to find what he truly seeks...
b
b
A good show with a good amount of pacing. And to add intensity and drama to the show, many people die here and there, making some mushy moments. All these dieing however do the show good, no one would want to watch a show where everyone still lives at the end right?
b
Peace.

Polytechnic starts

Well its been fun.

5 months have passed since my holiday began. Well its been a long long time, but I afriad that the fun has stopped. Next week I will be attendting poly, my school. Here comes school life again.

Just here to say that I MAY not post as often. If life in polytechnic is slack, i will continue to post as I do now. Well lets just hope thats the case.

Poly looks fun from orientation, but the orientation was boring. Commenting about the school, facilities etc. Looks good....

Well today was just a lazy reminder lol. Tommorow I will do my review of xamd: lost memories. Look foward to it.

Peace.

dynasty warriors strikeforce

Gamespot score:6.5(fair)

my score:7.8

(+)Pros:- pretty in depth customization,- very fun to do with friends,- koei took a different approach and made missions have more variety,- fury mode looks awesome,- big monsters are fun to fight .

(-)cons:-each character loses thier uniqueness and specialty,- many missions are monsterously difficult to do alone,- missions objectives get repititive.

gameplay time:30-40 hours(above average)

Wanted to do crash bandicoot today, but was too bored and lazy to do so, since I already got DW:strikeforce screens beforehand. Ah well Im just devastated by the fact that poly is starting soon and theres nothing I can do about it..... Okaes, anyway today Im doing dynasty warriors strikeforce, the 1st dynasty warriors game that took a different approach. This game is alot more fun than the original dynasty warriors series, serious. Instead of picking your own character out of the roster, you do the same and customize him/her. Now more on this later, lets get this thing going.

Storywise theres not much to say. You play a faction, and choose a character in that faction. Thing is, no matter what faction you play, I guess the bosses and stuff are the same. Soo yeah, you are this warrior belonging to this town, and you just accept quests and do them. Well.....any story? Not much. After a set amount of missions, you get to do the chapter's main story focus. Example in the 3rd chapter the story missions require you to kill lubu, many times. That means that every chapter you have to kill something that concerns the seperate chapter's story. All in all, the 5 chapter's story dont seem linked at all.

Much unlike previous dynasty warrior games, strikeforce in different in a number of ways. This game now plays much like monster hunter, where playing with friends is key. Now before you go on a missions you start in your town, where you buy items, get orbs, chi, weapons....etc. Then when you got what you want, you go out to do your missions alone, or wait for your friends to get done, then go on missions with them. Most of the time its the latter. This game, being so different, allows you to customize your warrior. Altough like all DW games, all characters have thier own special and unique weapon and fighting style. Now in strikeforce, they aint unique anymore. Yeap, in exchange to allowing players to customize freely, each and every character can hold all weapons, so they aint "special" anymore, in a sense.

Well koei had to make the suitable sacrifices, after all I gotta say the gameplay turned out pretty darn good. With any weapon you want at your disposal, you get a ton of experimenting. Of course, before you can hold a certain weapon you have to be trained in it. Getting zhao yun, a spear user, to use a mace, is quite a request. So your zhao yun must have the required experience in the mace before using it. Quite fair, if you think about it. Another new feature, not really new, but it isnt in previous games. Now to use musou, players must enter the almighty fury mode, turning thier warriors into completely different looking fighters, some looking more badass, some looking more silly. Anywho, fury mode is for the better, your character gets boosts to thier stats like no tommorow. Plus in fury mode your musou bar drops, and in only in fury mode can one use thier musou attacks.

Many of the new changes are quite welcome, including those orb effects and chi that can allow the warriors to jump countless times or even fly! That is indeed, suprising. Well now to explain the multiplayer of this game. Much like monster hunter, you gather up to three friends and and go accepting a mission. Most missions are quite doable alone, but some missions must require assistance of friends. Some times your missions are completely impossible alone. Such missions pit you against huge monsters never before seen in any DW game, and on top of that are godly generals accompanying it. Such missions are obviously impossible alone and those without allies will surely fall without a shadow of doubt. For those without friends that own this game.....you are at a disadvantage.
b
b
Well DW:strikeforce sure is a different experience overall from any DW game ever made. Its a good game, though many a times the objectives are the same, "kill this", " find this", "protect this", "reach this place"," kill a number of these"......anyway, enough ranting, this game should be tried by all DW fans, although it takes a different approach, that approach was worth taking for koei.

Prototype

Gamespot score:8.5(great)

my score:8.0

(+)Pros:- free roaming has never been so chaoticly crazy fun,- innovative ideas on alex himself regarding his powers,- destroying hives and army bases are fun,- later parts of the game require strategies and plans to take down enemies which makes things interesting,- good (but little) boss fights.

(-)cons:-characters dont play huge parts in the story which is annoying,-replay value is pointless after clearing the game.

gameplay time:20-30 hours(average)

Alright, today I'm doing prototype for the PC. Why PC? Cause I didnt have a 4th gen console at that time genius. Awhile back I was looking at the trailers for this before getting it. Was rather impressed with thier ideas and innovation. However when I got it I was rather disappointed. Not with the ideas, but other stuff. The ideas about using the powers for thier own ways of destruction is good, in fact, its what makes this game great. But however prototype has a few fixed flaws that cant be fixed no matter how intense gameplay gets.

b
b
Prototype's story is very simple. Alex mercer, a man in his late twenties or early thirties, has been experimented on to become a biological weapon, upon which after he loses all his memories. His purpose then is to regain memories of his identity and the people around him. After that, he changes his purpose, to make the military, or whoever who did this to him pay the price. "This" being the power to act like a mutant and shapeshift to his will. Lol if you ask me thats a great power and I wouldnt mind keeping it and instead of making the giver of my power pay, I would pay him big bucks instead. Alex sure is strange.
b
b
b
b

b
Prototype revolves around alex being the main character and takes place in a city, most probably new york. The game itself is a free roaming game, sort of like GTA but 10 times better. Unlike GTA where you travel around with cars and fight with fists or pistols or anything under the sun thats lying on the floor, prototype is a tad more unrealistic, but is much better. In prototype you THROW cars, make people FLY with your fists, and can shapeshift into ANY human under the sun. Cool eh? The free roaming elements in this game really make it a cool game, and like GTA, when you stir up enough trouble, armies come after you. You are after all, alex mercer, a biological weapon created by the military, of course they want to retrieve you back to thier lab to act as a lab rat. The enemy strike teams at first are weak and extremely easy to kill, but in the later stages, you dont just deal with tanks, helicopters. Later there are mutant soldiers, viral detectors, scanners and many more, making things alot tougher for you. This makes using different powers at different times a must for strategy.
b
b
b
b
b
So yeah, as a mutant, you get alot of handy powers. Alex is a shapeshifter, so he can take the form of anyone he kills. Cool eh? He is also able to change his arm into a variety of forms. He can change his arm into the following, claws, whip, muscle mass, sword, hammer fists and a shield. He can even morph himself an entire suit of massed armor. Yeap, alex is badass, using hammer fists to pund tanks into flat cakes, claws to rip people into shreds, swords slicing hunters in half like a samurai...Alex can do it all.To top it off he can even fly! Fine, not fly, mabye glide is a more suitable word. But yeah you get what I mean. He can even use his so called "ultimate moves" known as devastators, which are...devastating. Spreading out tentacles from his body or sending waves of spikes from the ground to impale enemies and tanks....they are just that deadly.
b
b
b
b
b

Hmmmm, with all these good points, prototype should sound like a 9 or more no? Blast that thought. I almost wanted to lower this to a 7 for these few reasons to come. First, the characters play no part in the story. Many characters just....disappear after a set few amount of missions. Whatever happened to them? These leaves many unanswered questions for us players. Damn. Also, this game is good fun, with tons of upgrades and stuff to purchase even after the game is cleared. The game is short, so one might think the end game free roaming will pay off. No. Okay quite. Theres are tons of upgrades to purchase, so you couldnt have bought all of the upgrades before clearing the game, unless you did TONS of killling beforehand, but once you have bought all upgrades...then what? Theres absolutely nothing to do, and new game plus is jus lame, you bring all your powers over.

b
b
Prototype is a pefectly fine game that is ridiculously enjoyable until you clear the game, be warned though, the main game story is rather short. For those looking for a great free roaming game, please feel free to get this, it will certainly make you have your fill for awhile.

Opening songs-OP 1: Cagayake! Girls

Genre:slice of life, comedy

Episodes:14

OMG! I feel so sad you know? This show was one of the best I have seen. Serious! It may look like your run of the hill comedy show, but this show is AWESOME. Oh why did the show have only 14 eps? Well currently Im pulling myself together since season 2 is supposedly out. YAY. Obviously gonna check it out ASAP. And once again my point is proven, a good show that ends in a pathetic number of episodes. Damn the producers.

Song:Cagayake! Girls(opening 1)
Artist:Aki toyosaki

Theres only one opening song for a show so short, but its pretty damn good. The song alone has little meaning, but the beats are catchy like hell. This is a great song. The animation of the song did change from like episode 8 or 9 onwards, and apparently there was a different full version for it with little changes. Weird. Anyway, yeah, great song.

Plot:8.5/10

Pretty damn good show I have gotta say. For one, an all-female cast. Yeah, I dunno where these kinda shows are coming from, but all-female cast shows are nowadays common for some reason. And yeah, much like seitokai no ichizon its once again about nothing. YAY FOR NOTHING. Actually scratch that, it has a little bit more purpose than seitokai no ichizon.

K-on tells a funny and quirky tale of a very slacky girl named yui, who always depends on her one year younger sister ui(no pun intended) to clean up after her messes and look after her. Well Yui, being the ultimately lazy girl she is, has just went into high school and was told by her childhood friend nodoka to join a club. Well Yui has never joined a club, so after a bit of aimless wandering she joined the K-on music club, where she meets her more quirky club members. Ritsu, the supposed "club leader". Mio, ritsu's childhood friend and the most shy and frightened amongst the club. Tsumugi, a rich girl who joins the club and makes people really wonder that her true purpose in the club is to bring in snacks and tea. Later on there are people like azusa, a freshman and junior to the initial 4 girls who joins and plays 2nd guitar, there is also the funniest (and my favourite character), sawaka sensei, the insanely crazy teacher that likes to dress people up. Well the true purpose of the K-on club is that they want to perform in budokan, some sort of life stage. To do that they have to be good, but everyday they just slack off and do nothing.....its just really funny.

K-on is a great show with a great sense of humour. No one should give this show a miss, seriously. It also sucks you in at times and is addictive to watch if you 're up for it. No wonder it was the "hype of 2009".

Peace.

yugioh GX tagforce 2

Gamespot score:n/a

my score:7.0

(+)pros:-upgraded database from tagforce 1,-now practically everyone can be your partner,- not as draggy and long as tagforce,-much replayability since more partners are gradually unlocked as you play.

(-)cons:-enemiy decks get very strong straight up when the game starts,-many story events for many partners are the same,- partners screw up ALOT.

gameplay time:20-30 hours(average)

Okay Im doing another review today. Today Im reviewing yugioh GX tagforce 2 for the PSP. Good game? Yes. Improvement from the first game? A big no. This is obviously a step down from yugioh GX tagforce 1 for the PSP. I will be covering some of these later on. To start off I would like to say that among all the current 4 tag forces so far this is the worse. Yep, no kid, I pretty much like all the tag forces, but this is the one I like the least. Though this brought over features from the 1st game, they introduced many new gameplay elements that dont spice the game up one bit.

Story wise this game follows the anime, from the arc after the society of light. This game follows the part where many transfer students hit the school, axel brodie, adrian gecko....you name those weirdos. Yeah.... but each character you play with as thier partner has thier own seperate story so I cant exactly elaborate the story very well since its from many points of views. Its like this, at the start of the game you are given the option to choose a tag partner. Then, you are to roam around the campus and duel to fill up "hearts", 8 of them, just like the 1st game. So yeah, the game literally runs on the "heart" system.

Yeah for dueling the same applies. You get the same sweet looking playfield with the good looking card grid and stuff. And as usual you get the slick animations. Ok not so slick...but hey, at least you see some brawl from your opponent. And as usual you dont see anything from the monsters beside from the arrows pointing at each other. You however do see certain monster animations like before, like cyber end dragon elemental hero bladedge etc. Well beside from that you get the basic stuff, rules and stuff. But well you also get a new feature called destiny draw. When your health is a tad lower than your opponent's, like 3-4k like points difference, you get to destiny draw, picking your destiny card from your deck. No complaints here, it may be braeking everyday yugioh rule concept, but I find this rather useful and good.

Now for the field play. While roaming from place to place finding opponents this is what you will see. Well to be honest, disappointed. No improvements from tag force 1 AT ALL. The exact same thing with little big headed people walking around from top view. This is quite lame I guess, but well I guess it wont affect the game much since most of the time is spent dueling. Plus you wont be walking around much without talking, and when talking to story specific characters you get beautifully drawn protraits, like the 1st game.

So whats the step down in this game? Well take it simply, this isnt a step down from the 1st game, but the system where you get different partners is kinda weird. For every partner, you will get a few same story scenes. Like for example the dark magician girl scene, every one will see it, no matter your partner. The game has many other partners like this, and its not exaclty cool when one is replaying the game iwth a different partner, since one would naturally want to see new scenes, not repeated ones. And I guess one flaw got solved in the 1st game, everyone's deck has been spiced up since the 1st game, but .....its become harder, alot. Yeah for example everyone has mirror force and monster reborn now. Yeah literally EVERYONE, despite a few weaklings. Heavystorm, bottomeless trap holes, dimensional prisons... wow, why do all of them have it? Its become annoying when you know that the 1st 2 cards they set face down has at least 1 mirror force.

Yeah as usual your partner screws you over most of the time in tag duel, more than in tag force 1 actually. Your partners have become more stuborn than stupid, insisting on tributing your monsters and activating your trap cards at wrong times. Well its gotten quite old cause one will need to get used to it, since story duels are all about tag duels.....damn. My closing comments....well to say what I feel, this is the worst tag force by far. If someone were to decide between all 4 tag forces out there so far, its not this one, the tag force series is great, but is just NOT the game that stands up to the rest.

Digimon world:dusk

Gamespot score:6.0(fair)

my score:7.8

(+)pros:-many branching digimon evolutions allow in-depth evolution choices,-battle is rather satisfying with all your very own customized and chosen digimon,- digifarm has plenty of options for players,- incredible digimon database,- many different explorable areas with thier own equal levels of importances

(-)cons:-lackluster story,-fights and bosses in the game are far tooooo easy,-in game sprites look bland and old

gameplay time:20-30 hours(average)

Finally! My computer these few days were crashed and I couldnt do anything due to that. Finally my computer has been reformated and Im ready to post again(but all my songs are gone, nooooo). Anyway today I've got digimon world dusk up for review. Its a fairly old game, and one of my few starting games for my DS. Anyway cleared this game all the way, thought it was prett good, but disappointed in a few things, really. All right here goes.

b
b
b
The story is as such. Your character takes part in a tornament as DUSK team's represenative(I think thats something like that). Well during the tornament you fight the DAWN's team representative and become rivals. Later on a virus invades the world and devolves everybody and thier digimons. Well the story goes as your character takes missions from your team leader to go around investigating the virus and eventually eliminating it, with a few very obvious twists and turns to the story, it concludes on a very anti-climatic ending. As for the story it unfolds at an incredibly slow rate, thats why the game is so long, and it drags and drags and drags alot, making the story kinda mediocre and bland.
b
b
b
b
b
Being a digimon game, you will find yourself in battle alot. Battle is the prime essence of the game. Good thing is that battle is fun. Though you only get to see the enemies' digimon and only portraits of your digimon, the battle is kinda fun and rewarding. Defeating opponent's digimon nabs you different kinds of exp. Defeating a dark digimon gives you dark exp, defeating a beast digimon gives you beast exp and so on. This is one of the interesting features of the game. You see, to make a digimon digivolve, one would need the corresponding exp for it to do so. If you have yourself a digimon that needs dark exp to digivolve, then killing lots of dark digimon will be the answer. This is a rather interesting feature, as there are lots of different kinds of exp for one to "collect".
b
b
b

b
Now the question arises. Whats the point of gathering so many different kinds of exp? Well this corresponds to another good feature to the game. Besides the game's mascot digimon(in our case lunamon), every other digimon has an in-depth digivolution path. With many branching paths of digivolution, one digimon is possible to digivolve into many others. For example, a digimon can digivolve into 2 possibilities, one requires machine exp and one requires beast exp. This means that if one lacks machine or beast exp, the player can choose to digivolve into the other path. Though, if the player really wants the digivolution to head into the machine path, one can go hunt machine digimon. This is one great factor of the game, as this allows mixing and matching and will keep players interesting in repeatedly killing digimon.
b
b
b
b
Now to talk about the digifarm. While your character is busy going around saving the world, you can deposit your other spare digimon into your digifarm via your home base. Since you can only take 3 digimon with you putting them into the digifarm is not a bad idea. The digifarm can help raise your digimon's stats while you are away someplace else. This is kinda cool since you can see what your other digimons are doing on the upper screen of your DS. This makes things much easier, since you wont need to train ALL your digimon this way, it is kinda annoying
b
b
Along with the game's lacluster story, the game's on field sprites look old and belong to the game boy advance. Gamespot was right with this one, the sprites look old. Plus, the gameplay is too easy. Enemies die in 1 hit, 2 to 3 hits tops. Plus, you dont need to grind to slaughter the bosses. They are so insanely easy that I have yet to encounter a game over even once in this game. Disappointing flaws indeed. Nevertheless this game's in depth digivolution and branching system make it enjoyable. It is one of the better digimon games out there, compared to many. Digimon fans should give this a go, however if you are not a digimon fan, this is a good place to start.
