OP 2 - Eternal Reality (Fripside)

ED 2 - Links (Sachika Misawa)

"Index" is the shit. "Railgun" is the shit. Both of these animes take place in probably my favorite anime "universe" of all time. I believed I mentioned it somewhere before, but the world in "To Aru Majutsu No Index" and "To Aru Kagaku no Railgun" is the best I've seen in anime...its just so full of life and endless possibilities. Scientifically generated esper abilities on one side, and dark, secretive magical abilities blended in another, its a great world with awesome characters that I would never forget. In fact, I was getting impatient during the time of "To Aru Kagaku No Railgun S"'s release, we've never gotten an "Index/Railgun" related anime since "Index 2", which aired in 2010. Sure we've got the movie but...you know nobody really cares about the movie NEARLY as much as they do for the anime series itself (Not to disrespect the movie itself, it was great as well). So, now that we've got "Railgun S", lets dive deeper into the lore and story of Misaka Mikoto!

Come on guys, just make it happen already!

This franchise has ALWAYS had amazing songs, and believe it, they didn't slip them up in season 2. The first opening theme is "Sister's Noise" by Fripside, which is just...simply amazing. It has the PERFECT "Railgun" feel that "Only My Railgun" and "Level 5 Judgelight" had. However, while the song itself is amazing and feels right for the series....nothing beats "Only My Railgun"! "Sister's Noise" is probably ranked 2nd among all the opening themes. The 2nd opening theme, "Eternal Reality", however, isn't that amazing. It is a rather good song on its own, but it feels very generic in terms of Fripside's discography, and sounds similar to a lot of their very...normal songs, which lack variety (Fripside's only weakness IMO).

The ending themes for "Index/Railgun" animes have been either hit or miss for me. Season 1 "Index" had boring endings, while season 2's ending themes by Maon Kurosaki were pretty good. "Railgun"'s endings by Elisa were great back in season 1, though season 2's fall somewhat short IMO. "Grow Slowly" by Yuka Iguchi is the first opening (I have no idea why Index's VA is singing an ending in "RAILGUN" btw), and its slightly above my bar of expectations. It's not too cutesy, and it sounds perfect for an ending, actually. I didn't enjoy "Links" that much, the 2nd ending theme, though it doesn't sound too bad as well....Its a decent song, I guess.

Rating: 8.0/10

Its a step up, I believe. "Index" has been more about plot, girls and action, while "Railgun" has always just been more of the slice of life thing, where 4 girls run around the city doing whatever they want, with bits of action and intensity popping up here and there, though it doesn't match up to the levels of "Index". The story arc of "Railgun" in season 1 lost its intensity after the level upper arc, and got a little bit of it back with the original story of Therestina, but it stopped at the most crucial point of the "Railgun" story line, the sisters arc. "Railgun S" gives us the full blow of the sisters arc, which is f**king amazing, despite us having seen it already in the first season of "Index", its worth a re-watch as Misaka's point of view this time around. It definitely feels more epic in "Railgun S", that's for sure. The original anime arc after the sister's arc wasn't too bad, but its probably on par with Therestina's arc in season 1.

I've been waiting FOREVER for Meltdowner's debut in the anime!

Like all sequels, "Railgun S" puts us in the shoes of the protagonist of its predecessor, Misaka Mikoto, as she continues her life as a middle school student in the glorious academy city. She has been going through her everyday life as per normal, hanging out with her lesbian number 1 fangirl Kuroko and 2 of her closer normal friends, Uiharu and Saten. One day though, she runs into another Misaka Mikoto, and realizes that the girl standing in front of her is none other than her clone. Doubting what she had seen, she dug deeper into the secrets of the higher ups in academy city, and found a plan named the "Level 6 shift project". It concerns using the DNA of the Railgun to spawn 20000 clones for the Accelerator to kill, in order for him to reach level 6. Unable to accept the reality of the situation, she intends to bring the entire academy city as her enemy, just to stop these inhumane experiments....

And so it ends. I really enjoyed myself with "Railgun S", more than season 1 actually. The "Railgun" spinoff series has been more of a slack experience instead of "Index"'s usually more serious tone, though "Railgun" can get pretty epic at times, as shown in this second season. Hopefully with the conclusion of "Railgun S", it could mean 2 things for us fans. Either we get a "Railgun" movie (unlikely), or we get season 3 of "Index", which I have been waiting for AGES! Come on J.C Staff, get to it, like, RIGHT NOW.

Peace.

Best Of The Console:NDS

Its time to close out the NDS era for me. I tend to keep my consoles alive for a bit, and as you can see, I only closed off my PS2 in 2012, WAY past its death date. The 3DS has been out for quite awhile now, and I recently just bought it. With the absence of new games for the NDS, its safe to assume that the console is already dead, and that its time to move on to the 3DS. "Pokemon X" review coming soon, I've already dumped over 70 hours into the game since release date...yes, I bought it day one along with my 3DS, so you now you know when I bought my 3DS!

Alright then, its time to bid farewell to the NDS, with my top 6 favorite games/series, here they all are (Yes, 6, not 5, because I can't choose 5 from these 6 awesome titles)! Of course, just with my PS2 list, this is mostly my opinion on which games entertained me the most, score plays a factor, but its not the DECIDING factor.

Name: Phoenix Wright series (Until Apollo Justice)
From: Capcom

Now I have been loathing Capcom as of late, but this was definitely one of the best f**king things they have done for video games. The "Phoenix Wright" series was simply one of the best interactive adventures out for the NDS, with plenty of mind f**king cases and great characters. With mind blowing music and excellent courtroom battles, "Phoenix Wright" was THE game to play for me whenever I wanted to feel as hype as a hyena.

For a game that pan over the course of 5 games with 2 spin-offs, you can already tell that this is an amazing series. With each and every game having their own share of crazy cases and characters, adding up all the games will give us an undeniably insane amount of entertainment. You'd have to scrounge entire areas for evidence, speak to everyone for clues, all for the great battle of truth in the court, which is hype as f**k, with the great old man judge sitting in the center (he's probably 90 years old by now).

There were so many games, so many characters (yes, even the Miles Edgeworth games were amazing, f**king Capcom didn't localize the second one though), its hard to find a favorite game in the series. The first one started the epic rebuttal between Edgeworth and Wright. The second had Karma's daughter, Pearl Fey and Matt Engarde. The 3rd one had easily the saddest end story, it introduced Iris and Godot. Apollo Justice has Gavin, whom was badass enough to be a prosecutor and rock star at 17.

Name: Etrian Odyssey series (Until 3)
From: Atlus

Oh Atlus, you made me love you even more. What, making the "SMT" series wasn't badass enough for you? You'd have to make me go completely bonkers over another one of your game franchises? Oh Atlus, you devil. "Etrian Odyssey" was one of the games I followed from the start for the NDS. I played the first one upon its release, I f**king loved it, though the entire game made me rage a lot. It made me rage, but I loved it, and its not a masochist thing, but that's the point of the damn game.

The series made me rage, many times. You can get ambushed by a normal enemy squad, get raped, then have a FOE hit you from the back. The FOE binds your entire party, preventing any sort of escape, then proceeds to kill you. Then you realized you have been exploring 3 floors straight, and haven't saved since. Let the raging begin. The core of these games is to be super challenging, and that's what it is. You need wit, you need patience, you need to get stronger. The motivation to become stronger, create your own party, making weird stories with these characters yourself....its all part of the experience.

You'd have a ton of characters to choose from, and creating the ultimate party is one of the things to have you succeed in this game. Sure, any party is viable as long as you have a medic, you can even run 3 protectors or 3 survivalists (which is pretty viable, mind you). They introduce new classes with each new release, and my favorite one in the series, "Etrian Odyssey 3", even overhauled the entire group of available classes. With the sea battles and awesome labyrinth...its no doubt my favorite one of the series.

Name: Pokemon Black & White/Black & White 2
From: Game Freak

No Nintendo handheld console's top list is complete without its poster franchise, "Pokemon", and fortunately, the NDS has seen its share of great "Pokemon" games. However, none fueled me the way that the "Black & White" series. It pretty much made me relive my days as a Pokemon master, making me feel like a kid again, back when I got my very own Gameboy, playing the shit out of "Pokemon Blue". For once in a very long time, I felt like catching them all again.

"Black & White" was the first game in many to finally have an entire region of new Pokemon to itself. Many iterations before "Black & White" old Pokemon mixed in their region, "Black & White" made damn sure that its region was filled with only NEW Pokemon EXCLUSIVE to Gen 5 at the time...until post game of course. This was easily its best selling point, as I could not wait to see what new Pokemon awaited me at each new area, and while some might argue that Gen 5's Pokemon designs were the worst, I beg to differ. I thought Gen 2 & 4 had worse designs, honestly.

The new visuals, the new Pokemon....everything was just too good. And as if it wasn't enough, Game Freak had the awesome idea of changing up the standard Pokemon story. Though the goal was still to be the best, the involvement of Team Plasma in the plot made for some impressive twists and turns that old Pokemon games never managed to pull off. I mean, a Team leader as a final boss instead of the Elite four champion? Awesome! What's more, they relived the experience and refined it further in "Black & White 2", making it an even more engrossing experience which I dumped 90 hours into, even more than the original "Black & White"!

Name: Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine doors
From: Chunsoft

Never in my life would I ever thought that I would play a game with a name like "999"...but I was so glad that I did. Developed by a company that almost no one knew about, Chunsoft made a masterpiece of a game when they finished "999". Being an interactive visual novel experience with a mind f**king story, amazing characters, multiple endings and intriguing puzzles, "999" is an excellent game that really shouldn't be missed as long as you own an NDS.

"999" simply made me feel so f**king alive, that's what it was. Few games can ever make me feel this way unless the story is so thought provoking and packed with emotion to the very brim. Make no mistake, the story of "999" alone is already a thrill ride, but many moments made me almost jerk a tear, and that's saying a lot. Being a visual novel game, there were many endings, and as you would've guessed, most were bad, except for the true ending. And how can you get the true end? By getting bad ends first, genius right?

By solving puzzles in rooms behind numbered doors you proceed deeper to find the door numbered 9. Because of an implemented system by the villain, only certain combination of people can enter certain doors, and before entering each one, your mind will race. Who will betray me on the other side? Which of the characters that I like that aren't going with me will die? We will never f**king know until we make it true, and that's just part of the awesomeness. The puzzles behind each door are interesting as well, and while its true that the story is the main kicker here, these puzzles are also a ton of fun with a lot of variety.

Name: Shin Megami Tensei:Devil Survivor/Devil Survivor 2
From: Atlus

I've come to a conclusion that I simply cannot do without "SMT" games in my life. The 2 biggest offenders are "Persona" and the champions of the NDS, the "Devil Survivor" series. Taking place in modern Japan? Check. World ending in 7 days? Check. High school student esque main characters and other awesome supporting characters? F**king check. There's really nothing to hate here, and while thee game has its good share of fun, annoying or badass characters, its really not a good thing when your game doesn't have character variety, no?

First off, the setting of these 2 games are already picture perfect. Throw in the well renowned demon fusion system, a simple, effective yet in depth battle system with the standard "SMT" elements of old, and you get a triple "A" NDS title. The games are full of visual flair, character development, amazing battles and addictive demon collecting. The story about the world ending in 7 days and the cast desperately trying to stop it never gets old.

Plus, the game is completely brutal towards your actions. Your time is limited, and so is the lifespan of the characters you know. Make wrong decisions and people WILL die. If you see multiple events on the overworld map, its highly likely that the game is throwing you a decision which will decide the course of the game. Failing to save characters WILL left them dead for the entire game, and this decisions will really put a lot of thought in your actions. Though this is made a lot simpler in "Devil Survivor 2". So which game do I prefer? I like both equally actually, though "Devil Survivor" has the better story and "Devil Survivor 2" has better characters.

Name: The World Ends With You
From: Square Enix

This is a no brainer, really. It doesn't take a genius to know that I love this game. In fact, its still my favorite game up to this day, no game has topped the amount of fun I've had or the amount of emotion I've felt while playing this game. There's just absolutely too much to love, ranging from the surreal story, the realistic characters, the plot twists, the villains, the monster designs, the city of Shibuya....everything man. This game still gives me the feels, even today.

The world ends in 7 days. Seem familiar? Its roughly the same concept as "Devil Survivor", but I ain't complaining. "The World Ends With You" gives you a pretty sizable city to run around in, despite most of it being closed off during certain parts of the game due to the interference of the Reapers. You get to live like a Shibuya city boy. Buy clothes, shop for trinkets, get food...so on and so forth. But that's just the icing on top of the cake, the fashion trends and stuff. Combat is a blast, making full use of the NDS touch screen, it felt more interactive than most NDS games up to date.

You swipe your stylus around depending on the pins you have equipped, performing various attack types and patterns. To top it off, you have to control the D-pad too to lead your partner into fighting as well, making combat something difficult to master, but once you do though, its satisfying. There are a great variety of enemies and pins, the story also provides its own share of mind f**ks and tear jerkers, so there's a lot to like.

And these are my top games for the NDS. There's a lot to like really, but to me, I'll have the most memories of these games when somebody talks to me about the NDS. Brace yourselves, 3DS games are finally making their debut on my little blog space.

Peace.

Opening Songs
OP 1 - Magneta Another Sky (Hitomi Harada)

Ending Songs
ED 1 - Pieces of treasure (Jun Fukuyama, Tsubasa Yonaga)

Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Romance

Episodes: 12

Okay so this is a first for me, and probably a big surprise to you readers. I think among all the animes I have watched, "Arcana Famiglia" is the first reverse harem in there. I have no idea how I got suckered into watching this, but well, here I am with my thoughts. I would have NEVER watched a reverse harem under any normal circumstance, but I guess I just got duped here. I saw fan art of it online and it looked pretty badass, with all the mafia dudes, the stuff about tarot cards, having different powers....all that shit. In the end all of that didn't really play into satisfying the part of me that wanted to watch badass guys with different tarot cards, powers and weapons fighting each other....this was just not that kind of show. Instead, just picture every regular high school harem you've watched, now reverse it with a girl as the protagonist, and lots of guys around here....throw in a sub par mafia theme...there you go. That's "Arcana Famigila".

Honestly, who wouldn't want to marry Felcita? That girl is gorgeous.

Surprisingly enough, the songs for "Arcana Famiglia" are pretty damn good. The opening theme is "Magneta Another Sky" by Hitomi Harada, a well known singer and voice actor (Himeji and Asuka go go). It sounds pretty badass, with guitar rifts and a badass melody, fitting for one of those shounen action animes, which this is not. The opening animations....are rather misleading (I was pretty hype when I saw it for the first time, but the anime had close to 0 of that). The ending song is "Pieces of treasure" by Jun Fukuyama and Tsubasa Yonaga, which, as much as I should hate the song, is actually not bad. Imagine a good Kaito song, its pretty similar really.

Rating: 7.0/10

I wouldn't say I hated my experience, not at all. It was...intriguing, to say the least. I've never tried to watch a harem which appealed to the female audience, and it was an interesting experience overall, which led to a lot of after thought, believe it or not. The many different male characters have a ton of personality, ranging from the surprisingly normal, the guy with a troubled childhood, a straight out deranged awesome gambler psycho dude, or the manly as hell bald strong guy with the heart of a true mentor. It all opens up well, really. In fact, the first episode was a fantastic build up. I expected a whole lot of awesomeness after the first episode, then came episode 2, 3, 4....I wondered when the build up would just stop, I wanted to see badass fights! Unfortunately, none of that really came, and all it really delivered was an average reversed harem experience (hence the term reverse harem). When the fight finally came, it was quite the disappointment.

Liberta my boy, you just put yourself in danger for 2 seconds of pleasure...

Felicita was the daughter of the boss of a great mafia family named Arcana Famiglia, and as such, she has lived her life differently from most other normal girls of high nobility. Her feminine side is lacking in her personality, though looks wise, she is a fine woman (a very fine one at that). She dresses in shirts and blazers like everyone else in the family (the term the mafia use to describe themselves as a whole), despite being one of the few girls in there. One day, Mondo, her father and head of Arcana Famiglia, announced that he would be giving the position of leader to someone else. As such, he will hold a duel between the entire family, and the strongest would be given that position. As a side bonus, the winner will get the right to marry Felicita. Not happy with her father trying to control her destiny, she fights back, only to be beat down. Felicita now works with Liberta and Nova, two of her closest friends inside the family, to work out a solution so that everyone can be happy with the end results of the duel.

Reverse harems sure are different, at least in a guy's point of view. I can't say I would be going back to them anytime soon, because my time with "Arcana Famiglia" was pretty much just average. In my terms, its "meh". I didn't exactly hate it, but my time could be better spent elsewhere, honestly. Maybe I went into it with the wrong mindset, since I was expecting action. Hardcore, legit, and well paced action....but that's not the case here. "Arcana Famiglia" is what it is, a harem for the female audience. Maybe to the girls, this is some great stuff? I should get some feedback...

Peace.

Opening Songs
OP 1 - Signal Graph (Annabel)

Ending Songs
ED 1 - Kaze No Naka No Primrose (Ceui)

Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance

Episodes: 13

Its time for another high school comedy/romance/harem hybrid! "Love, Election and Chocolate" is another one of those animes that seem all too familiar, with its very common and generic themes. Its not like we haven't seen these come into play in an anime before, but at the same time its what makes the beauty of watching anime...I dunno, beautiful? For one, "Love, Election and Chocolate" is based of a game, a visual novel in fact. Now I'm not too familiar about the VN game version of "Love, Election and Chocolate", so I don't know if there's adult content in the game, but I do know that the anime's relatively safe, like most other VN anime adaptations. Well, since it originated from a VN, we can expect good things, right? Fortunately, "Love, Election and Chocolate", is pretty good (I would watch a "Hoshizora No Memoria" anime adaptation in a heartbeat).

Shinonome san. Please.

Well since "Love, Election and Chocolate" is more towards the serious side and less of the f**king around, we don't get that super hyped up, super cutesy or super catchy opening song. I'm not too big of an Annabel fan, and with the opening song "Signal Graph", it stays that way. Its too lighthearted and too peaceful of a song for me to truly enjoy, because as you know me, I love loud, energetic and catchy songs. The ending theme "Kaze No Naka No Primrose" by Ceui, is not much different. Slow and peaceful, that's what it is if you're into that type of song.

Rating: 7.5/10

I like the story and a couple of characters, that's pretty much it for me to be satisfied. It starts off relatively simple, but there are twists in the plot here and there that you might not have expected, which was what made the whole thing relatively satisfying towards the end. And the end, mind you, is not some bullshit end that leaves you hanging, it was actually an end that I thought was good. Plus, watching Chisato grow throughout the whole series was a really good experience, in how she became a decent character from being the most hated girl throughout the entire cast at one point. That 13th episode however, was just for the lols, like in most animes.

How to start an anime 101

Ojima Yuuki is a very normal high school boy in a very lazy club....known as the food research club. What do they do there? They eat sweets, snacks, drink tea, talk about unimportant things and just enjoy their lives to their fullest, like any high school student should. Damn even their sexy club adviser drinks beer while in the club room, its like a perfect slack heaven. However, with the student council president election coming along, a few very likely candidates started to share their manifestos, and the current one leading the standings, Shinonome Satsuki, has her manifesto stating to disband all useless clubs, with the food research club being number one. How do Yuuki and his friends save the club from being disbanded? Of course, for someone to roll in for president, and to keep the club alive. Who did they sent to be the representative? Well, its always the main character, right?

For a pretty standard anime with such a standard plot, I did enjoy "Love, Election and Chocolate" quite a bit. There was enough intrigue to keep me interested to the very end, which had everything explained of course, no stones were left un-turned, if was a satisfactory experience. Between the VN version and the anime version, I'm not too sure which is better, but if the VN version has 18+ scenes, I might....look into it.

IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN~

Peace.

Pokemon Black/White 2

Gamespot Score: 6.5 (Fair)

My Score: 8.0

(+) Pros: - Continued story from original "Black/White" games are great, - Main journey through the region of Unova feels well padded out, - New in-game features improve the user experience, - Plenty of in-game content, both during the regular playthrough and during the post-game, - PWT is probably the best thing that the series has ever done.

(-) Cons: - Its just a rehashed version of "Black/White" with the same areas and Pokemon, - Most of the fun comes post game, honestly.

Playtime: 50 hours+

I'm quite sure I haven't been showing it lately, but for the past 2 months or so I have been crazy about "Pokemon". It all started in "White 2", then I finished it but it wasn't enough, so I moved on to "Black 2", and recently I just got "X" and have been playing the living shit out of it...but we'll leave that for another day. To me, "Black/White 2" were the last good games for the NDS, and they were the last games I played, from the day I finished "Black 2" I bid farewell to my NDS and bought a 3DS in preparation for "Pokemon X & Y". For the last games on the NDS, I couldn't have asked for more. I enjoyed the living hell out of the 2 games and spent more than 100 hours on both of them combined, it was definitely the peak of my life for "Pokemon" (following behind in 2nd place was the "R/S/E" era back in the day)...I didn't regret it. Think of "Black/White 2" as a rehash game for the original "Black/White" games, like "Platinum" was for "Diamond/Pearl" and "Emerald" was for "Ruby/Sapphire".

So the plot for "Black/White 2" takes off 2 years after the events of the original "Black/White". N disbanded Team Plasma and the world had life a little bit easier. The main character (you) has been living in Asperetia City for his entire life, and was about to get his firs Pokemon from Professor Juniper once again, but since she couldn't make it personally, she sent her assistant, Bianca, to bring you the starter Pokemon. After he gets it, he leaves his town along with his childhood friend Hugh for a journey, to beat all 8 gym leaders, fill up the Pokedex, beat the elite four, and become the very best.

According to a select number from the Pokemon community, Gen 5 had the best story line, and even after "X/Y"  I have to agree. Gen 5 had the best story, the best characters and the best gym leaders...of course, this is all my opinion. After the twist we got from the original "Black/White", it wasn't over apparently, and what it could not finish....."Black/White 2" took it from there and concluded the Unova saga with style. The characters from "Black/White" made a return, and while it may not have an epic end to the main story as "Black/White" did, it still did a pretty darn good job wrapping it all up going into the 6th Gen.

As with every Pokemon game and as in the original "Black/White", you will be travelling through the entire Unova region, defeating gym leaders and taking their badges. In the past 2 years, Unova has gone through some changes, and some gyms have been changed around. Cheren from the original "Black/White" takes over the normal type gym, Chilli, Cress and Cilan's gym have been removed, and so has Brycen's gym. They have been replaced by different gyms entirely, and throughout your journey between these gyms, the experience feels well padded, not too draggy or too rushed, something that I feel is important in Pokemon games.

The decision of your LIFE!

The difference and distance between each and every gym in the game feels equal, except for maybe the gameplay time between Drayden's gym and Marlon's gym, that one felt too damn short. Throughout the game you'll be going through routes that you've gone through in the original, fighting trainers, wild Pokemon....you may even be able to spot out some things here and there that might throw you back. Of course there'll still be arcs where you'll be battling Team Plasma, and with their new team formation, these encounters are made more impactful, and you'll come to resent them more as villains.

DAHH F**KING KYUREM!

First of all, there have been many newly added features that make the game feel more improved than its predecessor. The habitat list is my personal favorite, and it should be for all your Pokemon "gonna catch 'em all" completionists. This allows you to see what Pokemon appears in which areas, so that you may catch any Pokemon that you may have missed out in an earlier area. Ever wanted a really awesome Pokemon that you saw but forgot or don't know where it came from? Snap, the habitat list saves your ass, look it up the Pokedex and you're on your way to happiness. Just note that some Pokemon are so rare that it might take stupid amounts of time to encounter (f**king Tynamo).

The medals serve as an accomplishment or trophy feature for you to measure yourself throughout the game. Naturally, more medals means you did better, and if you have less that just means you have quite a ways to go. Version exclusive keys have also been added to the game, though these usually only kick in during the post game. Examples are the version exclusive Registeel or Regice, once you catch them in your own version, you get a key which you can send to someone with an opposing version via infrared so that they can have a chance to catch your version exclusive Pokemon in THEIR game.  There are more features to talk about, but going through all of them will make the review three times its size so lets just stop it here and move on for now (Grottoes, Memory Link, The four seasons that change according to your NDS date and time..).

Poke'star studios, one of the many optional things you can invest your time into.

The best thing in "Black/White 2" however, has got to be the amount of content that's in the game....its madness, really. The main story is decently lengthy, but the fun comes post game...the entire world is opened up to you. You do not travel the entire Unova region during the main story, and you get to visit the rest post game, from the Iccirus city, where the previous Ice gym was located to Nuvema town, where the protagonist of the original "Black/White" originated from.  There are a good deal of legendaries to capture, the three legendary golems, the three pixies, Reishiram and Zekrom, Heatran, and more.

Many other miscellaneous optional content include managing your own avenue, which makes you the boss of an avenue of Pokemon stores that YOU decide to set up. There's the Poke'star studios, a movie studio that allows you to shoot films with your character in skimpy clothing saying cheesy lines (you can see these movies yourself to see how well you did). Hell you can even get into a relationship with a cute girl/guy by picking up a lost transceiver and calling her/him 600 times to get them to fall for you, then they will trade you some spectacular Pokemon.

Versus Cynthia? F**K!

However, in the post game, nothing comes close to the satisfaction of playing in the PWT, short form for "Pokemon World Tournament". It's a lot like the Battle Frontier of previous gens, or the Battle Subway from the original "Black/White" games (by the way, Battle Subway is STILL in this game, its just less interesting now that we have the PWT). The context of PWT is that you enter your team of Pokemon to fight against a group of trainers in a tournament style bracket, either in single battles, double battles or triple battles. Your Pokemon levels are set to 50, but so are your opponents', that means that no matter how powerful your Pokemon are, they are all leveled out against your opponents.

Fighting to the end of each tournament and winning grants you BP to get items or TMs that are particularly useful for competitive Pokemon battling. In the PWT, you face off against many opponents, most of which will induce nostalgia into your minds. You can battle gym leaders from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova here, as well as the respective region champions, which is INSANE. There are more than 50 types of opponents you can face, and all of them you will know if you've played previous Pokemon games. Hype hype hype HYPE! And if you managed to squeeze through the gym leader tournaments, you can fight champions. Yes, ladies of gentlemen, even Blue and Red.

Bring it on, hot chick!

So what sucks about the game? Well, I generally hate secondary releases of these new gen titles, I've never played "Emerald" or "Platinum" despite playing their predecessors "R/S" or "D/P". "Black/White 2" marks the very first, because I was interested in the story/plot. Despite the many new things you can have fun with, you're still traversing in Unova, most of the areas are the same, and there aren't any new Pokemon. Its also not a stretch to say that the most fun you can get is only post-game, so it'll take awhile for you to really feel that feeling of freedom when you got a whole lot of shit at your disposal.

"Pokemon Black/White 2" is probably the most enjoyable Pokemon game for the NDS, and its the last too, so it fits very nicely. Its the best, its too bad that its not a proper gen release, since most of the game is recycled from the first "Black/White". I loved the game to death, but that doesn't mean it has the proper amount of new innovative content to have the highest score. This, was the game that revived my love for the series once more.

Happy gaming!
