god of war 2

Gamespot score:9.2(editor's choice)

my score:8.8

(+)pros:- great slashing fun,- awesome enemy design,- great enemy killing animations,- boss fights are cool,- nice array of skills and spells available,- has nice balance of puzzle and problem solving mixed into the good killing fun,-great story

(-)cons:-combat in easy and normal mode mainly consists of button mashing,- cliff hanger ending.

gameplay time: less than 10 hours( short)

Like god of war 1 god of war 2 plays almost the same. They are both similar in terms of gameplay, so there really isnt much to say for difference. Still you cant blame sony since well if they change the combat style the game wont be as fun. Well lets get on with it, kratos is angry!!

God of war 2's story is as awesome as the 1st game. Its takes place after the events of 1 obviously, kratos is now the god of war! And hes prepared to kill some shit. After the starting game events zeus betrays kratos and stirps him of his god-hood. That bastard. Zeus must pay! And thats what kratos did. The whole game drives on kratos wanting to kill zeus for what he did to him, which was bloody fucked up. Zeus deserves to die, seriously. On his insane journey for revenge kratos goes through temples, ruins, and many other shit, meeting others and killing some, which is awesome.

God of war 2's combat style is the same as god of war 1.You spam your combos all around to kill high healthed enemies and then finish them of with an all so stylish grapping finisher move that is always awesome to see. Being an action adventure game god of war 2 really satisfies, same as the 1st, but not as much, more on that later.

God of war 2 really tries to make it as entertaining as its preduseccor, and it succeeded. God of war 2 took out most of kratos's skills and spells, and gave him new ones. Good thing is all the new skills are nice, just like god of war one. Kratos has gained the use of a bow, to summon thunder balls to shock his enemies( poseidon's rage clone), to cause eathquakes that swallow enemies like nothing. All of kratos's blade combos are also rewritten. He's missing many if not all of his previous game combos. But like his spells his new combos still strike as awe. And instead of the blade of artemis he's gained an awesome spear and a crazily huge barbarian hammer. Cool shit eh?

God of war 2 still has its cons. Like god of war 1, the combat is mainly button mashing, which is...well, nothing much. Anyone can button mash. Same old same old, and you can just wipe out huge mobs by spell spamming. As I said, nothing much, the combat is still not really in depth. Another flaw in this game is the cliff hanger ending. No spoilers from me here but I gotta say it just leaves you wanting a god of war 3( which is already released).

Now then god of war 2 is a great continuation of god of war 1 and is as worthy to the franchise as any of the games in the series. Being part of god of war collection one can still enjoy this great PS2 classic that would not be forgetten even after a long long time.

gran turismo

Gamespot score:7.5(good)

my score:7.7

(+)pros:-many different cars and brands to choose from,- plenty of race tracks to test your skills on, - competitive AI,- great with friends or other players to enjoy with, - can last you for quite some time.

(-)cons:-local network has some bugs,- no story or career mode,-only 4 racers per map.

gameplay time: 30-40 hours( above average)

Wow godammit the new blogge sucks shit. Blogger is such a fuckking douche bag, I had so much problems that I took over an hour to get this post up. Faggots. Anyway.... today Im posting again, got really nothing much to do... even though its the term break. Well today' post is gran turismo on the PSP, should be quite well known. Gran turismo has been around for a long time now, since the PS1 days. I used to play gran turismo 2 on the PS1 oh so long ago when I was a little kid, kept losing to my dad in 2 player mode. And why did I get this? Well it looked like a decent racing game, and well its on the PSP so that means racing 24/7 anywhere you want. So, here it is.

Gran turismo has 1 disappointing flaw, no story. Or for games such as this, no career mode. Quite disappointing, but then again, not really, for a racing sim such as this I cant complain much. But really, could it kill to add more content through a career mode? Im sure it would be quite fun and a rather good way to kill time. I guess SCEA is just lazy huh.

Gran turismo is a good racer, and isn't very hard to understand. It doesnt take too long for someone who picks this up to get hooked and start racing day after day. Who can blame them, theres alot to do here, ranging from buying cars to add to thier awesome collection, to playing different modes from so many different maps to set records. Theres really alot going on here, even with no career mode. You get 3 available modes to do PER map, and theres ALOT of maps out there, believe me, and they are all available from the get go. Cool right? Plus, drifting mode is cool shit.

Racing in gran turismo is good fun. You pit yourself against AI racers and try to overtake them for the 1st position and get as much credits as possible, to buy more cars of course, since theres always space available in your collection for more cars. Racing against AI is pretty cool, since the AI cars always end up being the same standard or better than the one you are using. This sets things up pretty good, making things rather competitive. A game where you can just use good cars to trash lousy cars and earn credits are just no fun. During racing though theres this blue line throughout the track that players should follow, to get them around the map the easiest way possible. This however, can be turned off, since some players will prefer to use thier own ways around the track. But this can help lots of beginners who dont know whats going on, which is cool. The only fucked up thing about all this, is that there are only 4 AI racers, thats quite little. Even for ad hoc, you can only connect up to 4 players. Bleh.

Gran turismo's best feature comes in here, the vast selection of cars. Everytime a day in the game pasts, your dealers change, letting you buy new cars every day. Theres ALOT of dealers to buy from, honda, toyota, mazda, subaru...there are even some where people havent heard of, such as blitz. Here where you burn all your credits, since the prices of cars range from cheap, to totally insane. Not all cars however, serve you well. Some cars, even those insanely expensive ones, cant equip dirt or snow tracks, which means you cant race all maps with them. Another bummer is, even though sometimes your car is totally expensive, badass looking, and full of horse power, it sometimes can even lose to a cheap ass mini van car in ad hoc mode. Ad hoc mode has some rare, but very obvious and retarded bugs, such as supreme car slowdowns, these turns people off most of the time, and you cant fix it, sorry.
-
Gran turismo is a good racing game with lots of stuff to do and unlock. It has fun adhoc mode but has some unavoidable bugs that sometimes spoil your game. Though there are other factors that limit gran turismo from being an even better game, its an already good game overall.

Happy gaming.

Boss health

armor spider
HP:1732
Skills: fire ball(single), fire ball(tri-spread), web shot(single), web shot(dual), leg swipe, slam*, inferno*

Difficulty:3.5/5
Times died on 1st playthrough:1

Once more, Im doing another demons' soul boss profile, you know, yesterday's post gave me motivation to do another one. So here it is, my 3rd boss, armor spider, the ruler of 2-1, stonefang tunnel archstone.

Being a boss, he's pretty badass. Giant spider bossses are always badass, so armor spider is damn cool. But, he doesnt really look armored at all! Ah well, here are his moves.

Fire ball(single)- Fires a fast moving fireball in a straight direction in front of him. Goes all the way through the tunnel.

Fire ball(tri-spread)- Fires 3 fast moving fire balls in a tri- spread pattern, he does this in rapid progression 3 times. That means he shoot a total of nine fireballs :o. Moves only halfway through the tunnel.

Web shot(single)- Shoots a strand of quick moving web towards your character. Does minor damage, but the character will be slowed and cannot roll for a brief amount of time.

Web shot(dual)- Shoots 2 strands of web together. Kinda the same as web shot(single), but shoots 2 instead of 1.

Leg swipe- Swipes his front 2 legs in front of him. Covers a huge area, but is easily blocked.

Slam*- The boss shakes up a bit and slams his entire front body downwards, crushing all blocks and doing major damage.

Inferno*- Boss starts foaming flames at his mouth and charges, then after a while, breathes out an endless sea of flames that cover only the melee-ing portion of the map at 1st, then spreads to around the 1st 1/3 of the whole tunnel.

Armor spider is quite tough. Be sure to come in with lots of grass and some sticky white stuff if you're planning to melee him all the way, since he's weak to magic. And since he like to play with fire, bringing in purple flame shield will help you alot. Cresent/ moon weapons help alot too.
If you want to be cheap you can buy lots of arrows, then at the start of the tunnel, hide behind a small wall lump and start pelting the boss until he dies. This is very easy and you wont even need to do any dodging or shit.

Now then for those who intend to fight the boss fairly, equip at least one, either the purple flame shield or the flame resistance ring. For purple flame shield users you can charge in guns blazing while holding up your shield. The boss's fire ball attacks do moderate damage, minimal if you're equiping fire resistant ring. Fire ball single is lame and you only need roll to the left or right to completely evade it. The triple fire ball attack is quite deadly, but only reaches half the tunnel. Just wait for the attack to subside, and rush into melee range with the boss, since the attack itself has a long cooldown. Note that the fire ball attacks alone arent too much trouble, but the web shots can really change that. The webshot attacks alone are easily evaded by a simple side roll, but if you are hit you will be severely slowed and cannot roll, meaning you are vunerable to fire ball attacks. Make sure to block when you are webbed, dont bother advancing foward to the boss.

Now finally, when you are in melee range of the boss, things heat up. Boss's leg swipe attack covers a large area, but can be blocked easily. He usually uses this twice or thrice, before using his deadly slam attack. Slam cannot be blocked, and does major damage, it can 1 hit kill in NG+. When you see the boss shake up like some ectasy addicted fool, MOVE away. When he slams down, you will still be hit if you are within the range of his 2 front legs, so be extremely careful. But after the slam attack, this is the time to strike, since it has long cooldown. 2 hand your weapon, use sticky white stuff, and slash like mad! Or if you have spells, abuse them! When the boss gets back up, move away and get back into blocking stance, since he'll do rapid leg swipes again.

Note that once you are within melee range, that doesnt mean you can already rinse and repeat until armor spider dies. After a few repeats of leg swipes and slams, he charges up for inferno. This is where you start running. Inferno has a rather long startup, giving you a lot of time to run back to the beginning of the tunnel. If you dont run, you will unfortunately be caught in an inferno of flaming doom that will eat up most if not all of your HP. Remember to always run when you see the boss charging up his flames. When you are back at the start of the tunnel, start from square one and move yourself back into melee range and continue attacking him. Rinse and repeat until the boss falls.

Armor spider is one tough cookie, fighting him alone can be tough, summoning blues to help you always helps when you cant seem to win. Just getting past his webs and fireballs are already annoying enough to creep you out. Overall his difficulty ranges from moderate to difficult, somewhere in between.

Boss health

tower knight
HP:1365
Skills: lance swipe, lance thrust, stomp, shield drop(vertical)*, shield drop(horizontal), shield drop(recovery)*, magic lance

crossbow man
HP:100+
Skills: arrow

Difficulty:2.5/5
Times died on 1st playthrough:1

Okay! Today theres gonna be another demons' souls boss analysis. The boss today is tower knight, the 2nd boss I killed on my 1st playthrough. 1 word to describe him, cool. The moment you walk past the fog into the battle arena and see the opening scene that follows, you'll think exactly the same. Tower knight is the boss of 1-2, phalanx archstone.

Tower knight is a big, cool, armored piece of shit. He may seem intimidating, but after you get used to his attacks, he ain't as difficult as you thought him to be. Lets take a look at his moves.

Lance swipe- Boss does a horizontal 180 degree swipe in front of him.

Lance thrust- Boss does a quick thrust straight in front of him.

Stomp- Just his regular walking animation, this somethimes causes a slight shockwave however.

Shield drop(vertical)*- This is a bit unexpected and tricky at times. The boss drops his shield vertically, and causes a medium sized shockwave. Rather quick execution.

Shield drop(horizontal)- Boss's shield starts glowing like mad, and he lifts his shield pretty high up in a horizontal view, then he slams it downwards in front of him, causes a huge shockwave. Very slow execution.

Shield drop(recovery)*- This gets me all the time. Boss does a shield drop(vertical) when he stands up, after recovering from a fall. Rather quick execution.

Magic lance- Boss's lance glows, and throws a lance shaped magic blast towards your character. Boss uses this only when you are at a higher pavement.

Woah, theres quite a lot to talk about. Thankfully most of his attacks arent much to worry about. The attacks marked with * are ones that should be noted off, the rest are pretty normal and not that dangerous. Anyway when the battle starts you will immediately notice some crossbowmen stationed across the pavements up above. Make a mad dash past the tower knight and head up the pavement and follow it 1 entire round, killing all crossbow men along the way. If you leave them be, you will be endlessly pelted throughout your battle with the tower knight so its a must to do this.

Take note that when killing all crossbow men at the upper pavements, the tower knight will use his magic lance attacks at you. These have slow startup times, so you should have noticed him charging it before he launches it, but they hit pretty hard. These are avoided easily all you have to do is just keep moving foward, never stay in one spot execpt to kill the crossbow men. Note that if you want to heal, do so behind the small bunker like houses or at the highest center pavement, his magic lances cant reach you there.

There are 2 ways to kill tower knight, ranged or melee. If you want to range him do so with magic. Stay on the upper platforms , wait for him to charge up magic lance, and just fire at his head. When he charges magic lance, his shield moves away for abit, making his head wide open. Doing this is very easy, but prepare some spices. Just remember to move away from magic lance, since they will hurt.

If you're man enough, fight him the melee way, which is what most will do. His lance attacks arent too much trouble, but if you try to circle around him, which you shouldnt, his lance swipe will take a toll out of you. What you will want to do for the most of the time, is wait for him to charge up his horizontal shield drop attack, and run towards him. By the time he lands his attack, you will already be behind him, since you be running in between his legs. There, start your assault, hit his legs. You can speed this up by using turnipine, your choice. Make sure to hit both legs, or else he wont fall. After hitting his legs for some time, he will fall, this is where you take it out on his head, 2 handed style. He will get back up on his feet after awhile, but his legs will alredy be half broken by then, so it will be easier to make him fall again. Rinse and repeat until he falls.

Note that most of the time, when you are behind tower knigth and are attacking his legs, you are safe. Dont however, keep attacking him like no tommorow, since he still has some attacks that can hit you, namely the vertical shield drop and his stomps. Unlike the horizontal shield drop the vertical shield drop almost has no warning, and has quick execution. Always take note of his shield when attacking. The stomps are mostly not too much trouble, but when he stops moving, be careful, he might do a backstep that will hurt you. This isnt too damaging, but it never hurts to be more careful. Also, when he stands up after falling, he'll do a recovery shield drop, which functions the same way as the vertical shield drop, so after he starts getting up, move away, dont get greedy and keep attacking him.

Thats it, wheew I wrote a whole lot. For a boss, he's quite easy, probably wont give you too much trouble after you've died once and known all of his attacks. I died once, so dont feel too sad if you've died too.
