So here we are again with another extension to the "Fate" series, a franchise that has been doing fairly well in the recent years. After EIGHT years, "Fate" has continued to do well, that was basically the go sign for Ufotable to invest themselves into remaking "Fate/Stay Night", this time doing Rin's route in "Unlimited Blade Works". If you don't know who or what Ufotable is, they are the genius studio behind the awesomeness that is "Fate/Zero", one of my favorite animes of all time. Now its their turn to take a spin on "Fate/Stay Night", which arguably was a lot less interesting than "Fate/Zero" was. Can Ufotable be put up to task for reinvigorating the original and make it intense, interesting and awesome like they did "Fate/Zero"? That may be too much to ask, as the scripts and plots are TOO different, and to me, "Fate/Zero" still remains superior. However, with that being said, "Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works" is a fantastic retelling of an old story with a new spin, which is good enough for most fans, myself included.

Let's get awesome!

The opening theme is "Ideal White" by Mashiro Ayano. Like the previous "Fate" songs many years ago, it mixes a good deal of fantasy and rock into it, making it a song that's worthy of fitting the "Fate" franchise. IMO its not near as good as the opening themes in "Fate Zero", but I guess for "Fate/Stay Night", this'll do. The ending theme is "Believe" by Kalafina, and deep down, I wished that this was the opening theme. Maybe I'm just biased because its Kalafina, I f**king love Kalafina. "Believe" sounds similar to most of Kalafina's other songs, its like a requiem of badassery and awesomeness.

Rating: 8.0/10

Its honestly the same story that we've had many years ago, only this time it takes a different route and its a lot more "polished". However, for this first half, no matter how polished it is, it STILL tells the SAME story, at least for this first half, it feels mostly similar except for some parts that are exclusive to the "Unlimited Blade Works" route. Its for those parts we watch this anime, and honestly, those new segments are pretty great, at least from the perspective of someone who has never watched the "Unlimited Blade Works" movie. Ufotable's animation is top tier, and they somehow managed to make the fight scenes look EVEN better than the ones in "Fate/Zero". Honestly, that first battle in episode 0 between Archer and Lancer was SO freaking well done, it almost made me shit my pants. For the whole show, the fight scenes are insanely fun to watch, and that is easily "Unlimited Blade Work"'s strongest point. However, the story still doesn't sit too well with me, more particularly though, its the characters that I don't really dig too much. I still love Rin and her tsundere superiority, but I hate Shirou so damn much (he should take a clue from his dad when he was a badass). I hate him less so than in the original, but the hate is still there to some degree. Other than that, the writing isn't the best, but honestly, everything feels like an excuse for us to undergo these breathtaking fight scenes, so it doesn't really matter.

What she's trying to say is, "Please let me save you, please don't die".

The story revolves around a young man by the name of Emiya Shirou, who is an orphan who was picked up by a man known as Kiritsugu many years ago in a fire that engulfed the city. Before Kiritsugu passed away, he left Shirou with some meager tricks that classified him as a mage, a really pathetic one who could only use fortifying magic, but he's still a mage nonetheless. Anyway, he was just going to school, living a normal life as per usual, but one day, he had to stay behind late to clean his club's dojo. After cleaning, he peered out the dojo to witness a clash of 2 almost inhuman beings. The battle was quick, it was intense, it was overwhelming to the human eye. Feeling that he just witnessed something that he should not have, Shirou booted his way out of there, only to be caught and stabbed by a man with a spear. After being left to die, he is supposedly saved by a girl, whose face he could not make out. He surprisingly survives, and limps his way home, still flustered over what happened. He is attacked by the spear man once again when he reached home, but this time, he accidentally summons a servant, Saber, who repels the man with the spear. Rin barges into his home and explains the holy grail war to him...before he knew it, Shirou was part of the Holy Grail War, a fight between mages to the death using their servants of mass destruction.

"Fate/Stay Night:Unlimited Blade Works" is not over yet, there's a second season coming soon, which of course, I'm looking forward to. With excellent fight scenes all about, this is the show for you, especially if you're into the action genre. The weak writing is easily overlooked, because you're going to be captivated by Ufotable's amazing animation quality. I can't wait to see what else Ufotable is capable of in the upcoming second season.

Peace.

The Duke's Dear Freja
HP: 4220
Skills: Lunging Bite, Leg Spikes, Leg Spike Frenzy*, Web Shot*, Laser Beam
Souls: 42000

Difficulty: 3/5
Deaths: 4-5

After going through the entire route of the Doors Of Pharos, you will find yourself in Brightstone Cave Tseldora, the dreaded area filled with spiders and creepy mages. As you'd expect from a map that's practically INFESTED with these creepy crawlies, the final boss that's waiting at the end is none other than a big ass spider. Mind you, after The Lost Sinner, this is the next soul lord, so prepare yourself for quite a lengthy battle. Get your insect repellent and head right in to face the spider queen, The Duke's Dear Freja.

Sonuvabitch!

The Duke's Dear Freja is one hell of an ugly bitch.  One big, ugly bitch. Still, its menacing huge size does bear some merit behind it, The Duke's Dear Freja is quite tough to take down. I say tough to take down, but its honestly not too difficult of a boss. Sure, you'll spend quite awhile trying to kill it, but it shouldn't have too much on you because of its highly exploitable attack pattern. Keep your wits about you and this shouldn't be too tough.

Lunging Bite - Used at close range. The spider bites in the area in front of her after spreading her fangs out. Does high damage, and deducts considerable stamina on block. Just run away after you see her open up her fangs.

Leg Spikes - She flails her front legs around, hitting random, pinpoint locations. Rather easy to dodge, but I don't think its blockable. Just run away from her when you see her spike her legs about. Does moderate damage.

Leg Spike Frenzy* -  She flails her front legs around frantically while spitting out some green liquid from her mouth. This one can hurt quite a fair bit and set you up in an unfavorable position. Run the hell away or spam rolls.

Web Shot* - The spider lifts her head, then shoots out a simple straightforward projectile. If it connects, you will be stuck in place, setting her up for an easy laser shot. Does no damage on its own, but is extremely dangerous.

Laser Beam - Here it is, the boss's killer move. She reels her head backward, then fires off a laser beam. This attack does a stupid amount of damage and reaches throughout the entire length of the boss arena. Unblockable, but with the right timing, you can roll THROUGH UNDERNEATH it. The easier way is to just outrun the laser since it moves from left to right, just keep running right and eventually the laser beam stops.

You actually only have to worry about Web Shot, since its the only attack that the boss might use if you're standing at a distance. The danger about this boss is its Laser Beam attack, everything else you won't have to worry about if you're not in its face, which you should not be, because this boss is a complete beast when she decides to play melee. The worst and most important thing you should look out for however, are the mini minion spiders that crawl about as you enter the boss room. There should be 4 or 5 of these guys, and while you are completely focused trying to dodge out the boss's laser beams, these guys can put a complete dent in your plans if they hit you together and kill you. If possible, KILL ALL THESE LITTLE GUYS before focusing on The Duke's Dear Freja. They respawn, slowly, so keep track of them.

Run circles, CIRCLES.

The trick is to not stand near its face. If you stand at a considerable distance, the boss will almost, ALWAYS use Laser Beam. Laser Beam is a devastating move, but has a major flaw. The start-up time is very long, and the boss has TWO heads, one on the front and one at the back. As the front head reels up and charges for a Laser Beam, you have more than ample time to run to the back head, hit it multiple times as the front head is firing its laser, and when its done firing the laser, back off before the back head attacks. Yes, even though it has 2 heads, ONLY 1 HEAD CAN ATTACK AT A TIME.

With that in mind, the boss becomes a long stretch of just running around, baiting the laser, then running to the opposite head, hitting it, backing off, baiting the next laser from the current head facing you, then running BACK to the original front head. Simple, right? If all goes well, you shouldn't have much problems, though there are times that she will deviate a bit from the strategy. If you didn't back off fast enough, you will be seeing some of her melee attacks. Out of all the melee attacks, most are easily avoided by running away because of their long start ups, like Lunging Bite or Leg Spikes. Leg Spike Frenzy is the tough one, since its fast and covers a larger area than usual.

Also look out for Web Shot, as sometimes it will fire this off instead of the laser. If it does, dodge, and you're gold. If you are hit, you will be stuck, and you will easily be hit by a single laser beam, which can spell death. Other than that, other things you need to look out for as you repeat the boss's exploitable pattern are the spiders. When they spawn, look out for them and KILL them before focusing on The Duke's Dear Freja again. They don't spawn all at once, so take note of them and finish them fast as they come out. The boss has a lot of health, so take your time and whittle her down.

IMA FIRING MAH LAZOR

After beating this freak spider, you get 42000 souls, which is a massive, massive amount. You get access to killing the duke itself, and then followed by the body of Vengarl, who should be a piece of cake compared to what you just faced. Next time we go down the path of the rotten.

Peace.

Opening Songs
OP 1 - Extra Magic Hours (Akino With Bless4)

Ending Songs
ED 1 - Erementario De Aimasho (BRILLIANT4)

Genre: Comedy, Magic, Romance

Episodes: 13

Here's something nobody expected to rock as much as it did. At least not me. I mean, who looks at "Amagi Brilliant Park", and decides its going to be a good show. Nobody, I mean come on, if anything it looks like a show for kids. However, scratch away everything I just said, because "Amagi Brilliant Park" is one of the sleeper hits of 2014. An unexpectedly entertaining, funny and even emotional show, "Amagi Brilliant Park" delivers as one of the most consistent animes last year. As long as you can get past the ridiculous costume characters, who honestly work really well as comedic relief characters, you'll find a well animated show that takes on a rather unique theme, one that can easily draw in its viewers (because its not done often). I mean, how often do you see animes that are centered around a theme park? If that doesn't sound amusing enough, watch an episode or two and watch yourself get sucked in. No, I'm not joking, it gets addictive.

Praise the god of fan service!

With an anime about a theme park you'd expect a happy opening theme song. You'd be right, because "Extra Magic Hours", the opening song that's sung by Akino With Bless4, is a high strung, catchy, and cutesy song that gets you feeling tingly all over. A bright and vibrant song overall, which really fits the style of "Amagi Brilliant Park". The ending theme, "Erementario De Aimasho " by Brilliant4 (probably named after the 4 seiyuus of the 4 faeries), is also a pretty jumpy song for an ending, which works well BECAUSE I simply hate ballads. Its also quite catchy, though not as much as the opening song IMO.

Rating: 8.0/10

There hasn't been anything you've seen that's like "Amagi Brilliant Park". Sure, its typical moe/anime culture, but when it generally comes to what "Amagi Brilliant Park" is about, its really quite a unique experience. Instead of a cliched environment like a school or having everyone chilling under the same roof of a house, "Amagi Brilliant Park" is about a young man trying to save magical beings that feed off their energies from visitors in their amusement park. Yes, let that sink into your head for a moment, how is what I just said NOT ridiculous? Sounds ridiculous, but the story is actually more of a minor setback until at least later into the show. The characters are great, yes, even the animal mascots. In fact, they are ridiculously funny and are the core backbone that supports the laughs in the whole show. Needless to say, the comedy is top tier, though there are some episodes where everything becomes inconsistent. Other than that though, its a solid show overall if you're willing to widen your horizons.

That's the best thing I've heard in quite a while, actually.

Kanie Seiya is one hell of a narcissist. He admires himself in mirrors, he praises himself like no other. Despite being quite the handsome devil, his narcissist personalities keeps most girls away. One day, a hot transfer student, Sento Isuzu, pulls out a rifle from under her skirt and points it at Kanie after class with nobody around. All she said was, "Go with a date with me this weekend". Being in no position to refuse, Kanie follows Sento during the weekend, and she brought him to Amagi Brilliant Park, which is a run down amusement park with little visitors, even during the weekend. After dragging him around a failed theme park, Sento proceeds to ask Kanie what he thinks about Amagi Brilliant Park. Criticizing it to no end, Kanie proceeds to storm his way out, but Sento asks him to test some croquettes, in which Kanie found delicious. Bringing him to see the maker of those delicious delicacies, Kanie meets  Latifah, the manager of the whole park. After cooking up a story of magical beings and the park closing down, Latifah begs Kanie to save Amagi Brilliant Park. Thinking too much of himself, Kanie accepts, and becomes the new manager for the theme park.

"Amagi Brilliant Park" is a nice change of pace from the many cliche "same-ish" anime that's been popping up nowadays. A theme park saving simulator is quite interesting, and honestly, from start to end, "Amagi Brilliant Park" stays mostly relevant in its character development, story telling and comedic nature. A good pick up if you're tired of high school romance comedies.

Peace.

She just doesn't give a f**k.

Name: Ravness
From: Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

Been awhile since we admired virtual women, so here we are with a character from a game that I've played donkey years ago. Ravness was pretty much the eye candy of "Tactics Ogre". In a game with fully armored females all around, Raveness stood out well with her girly armor and constant "damsel in distress" scenarios. Comparing her with most other females in the game was like comparing a teenage girl to a model. Ravness is hot, and it proves that girls don't NEED to be scantily clad to be attractive. I loved me my ninja Ravness, killing everything she hit with a single turn. I treat my ladies well and make sure they are overpowered :)

I don't know how that outfit is supposed to protect her from bullets,
but its freaking sexy.

Name: Sinon
From: Sword Art Online II

Sinon is everyone's new favorite eye candy character in "SAO II". I mean, Asuna is still the hottest pick among fans, but Sinon really climbed the ranks in season 2, and I can see why. While she has a rather regular build for an anime girl, her outfit is SEXY. I mean, LOOK AT THAT SHIT. Its like she's trying to attract attention. That super revealing tight fit top that shows off her cleavage and hips, her super short, tight shorts. plus those boots and jacket...she's just asking for it. Honestly, as a guy, I love her outfit, and it actually makes her hot. I really like her personality too (minus the sore loser part), a girl that acts strong and becomes really cute when flustered.

Ahaha...yeah, I'm not sure that's an appropriate way to dress.

Name: Seras
From: Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka?

I like big boobs, I think you know that by now. I love them in real life, I love them in my virtual reality. EVERYONE likes boobies, and Seras brings that to "Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka?" SPECTACULARLY. Her killer body combined with her killer personality (literally) makes her my favorite character in the series, and this combination is one of my favorite archetypes in games or anime. The fact that she doesn't get flustered too often is even better, and how she always wears revealing outfits while not giving any f**ks just makes me like her more. However, when she DOES get flustered, oh my, she becomes even sexier, as if that's even possible. If you've seen her in her maid or bunny outfits, you know what I mean.

Impact!

Name: Matoi Ryuko
From: Kill La Kill

Ryuko is a really strong character as a protagonist. A female protagonist at that. She's an incredibly well received character and I can see why. The thing is, she is both a strong character, AND a hot one at that. Ryuko is SEXY, and its further amplified when she dons Senketsu to do battle. I mean...just LOOK AT HER. Her outfit reveals almost everything from her underboob to her waist area. Her crotch area is EXPLOSED, and her boobs are covered by mere straps. Yeah...combine the fact that she always jumps around during fights, you get...a lot of fanservice. Since the anime's fan service is focused around Ryuko in the first place, this all works towards her favor. And, she DOES get embarrassed, no matter how used she is to this outfit, its always worth to see her blush.

Yay for 14 year olds with totally matured bodies!

Name: Himeragi Yukina
From: Strike The Blood

Himeragi is one hell of a sexy 14 year old. Yes, no matter how you look at it, she's too hot to be 14. Come on, at least make her 17 or something, SHE'S TOO MUCH OF A JAIL BAIT! Anyway, Himeragi always clinging to Kojou is just her doing her job. Unfortunately for her, she's a girl who is easily flustered, and is pretty much doomed to be Kojou's blood slave. How she always gets sucked by Kojou and her getting all sensitive never gets old. Plus, she always changes outfits, way too many times actually, to showcase her sexy body. We get many fan service scenes featuring her in them, so its only natural that we all get to like her.

Opening Songs
OP 1 - Skyreach (Sora Amamiya)
OP 2 - Liar Mask (Rika Mayama)

Ending Songs
ED 1 - I Didn't Want To Know About This Kind Of World (Miku Sawai)
ED 2 - Tsuki Akari (Sora Amamiya)

Genre: Adventure, Drama, Fantasy

"Akame Ga Kill" is dark. Yes, yes it is. It looks like your typical shounen anime bull crap, but its a little more than that. "Akame Ga Kill" is easily one of the edgiest things I've seen in recent times, just because its not afraid to kill its characters. I like shows like that, I really do, especially since I've read the manga beforehand, I expected GREAT things from "Akame Ga Kill". Let me just say this, if you've never read the manga and are going into this for the first time, then great! Go for it, its a great show, though it starts to rush itself towards the end. If you've read the manga and are going into this KNOWING what you read, then the ending few episodes are going to make you cringe, solely because they were trying too damn hard to rush the show to an end that it didn't really need. They could have dragged it for a sequel, but I guess they just didn't have the budget or didn't WANT one, so they ended it the way it did. Honestly, I hated the ending, plain and simple. But if you know nothing of the series, then it shouldn't affect you too much.

Yeah, these guys aren't f**king around.

The opening song is "Skyreach" by Sora Amamiya, who's the seiyuu of Akame. Its dark, its edgy, and it spells tragic shounen action anime. It fits perfectly for the show, and I enjoyed it a fair bit. The vintage style opening animations also made it look pretty epic IMO. The first ending theme is "I Didn't Want To Know About This Kind Of World" by Miku Sawai, and well, you know what I'm going to say here. Its super slow, so I didn't really like it, at all. Not my type of song but its still what we've come to expect from most anime and their ending themes.

The second opening song is "Liar Mask" by Rika Mayama, and while its not as good as "Skyreach", I do think its still a good song and fits the show's theme AT THAT POINT of the anime. The 2nd ending theme is "Tsuki Akari" by Sora Amamiya once again, and once again, its a slow song...slow as always. Not much I can say here, let's move on.

Rating: 8.0/10

Would have been a solid 8.5 if they bothered to follow the manga all the way, but oh well. "Akame Ga Kill" starts off with a bang, then slows down for a fair bit...then accelerates at full speed once more...before slowing down again. That's pretty much the flow of "Akame Ga Kill" in a nutshell, even in the manga, the action sequences are great, but every other segment kind of pales in comparison to these action scenes. The story is nice and dark, and the way that the story is portrayed is done well enough too. I say all this, but character development is something that wasn't very well done here for some characters. Spoilers, characters die in this show, but whether or not their death is impactful is up to the individual. Personally, most of the character deaths didn't hit me too hard because we didn't get to see more of them develop, there was no attachment to these characters who died. But I said, this only refers to SOME of them, some of the deaths were still brutal, even for me. Seriously though, brutal episodes and great action scenes, that's what "Akame Ga Kill" has going for it.

Alright, good guys versus back guys, let's f**king go!

Tatsumi is a regular country bumpkin with nothing special going on for him other than his spectacular sword skills. Him and his 2 good friends from his village, Sayo and Ieyasu, go out on a journey to the capital to earn money. On the way, the 3 are seperated, and Tatsumi ends up going to the capital by himself. On his first day, he entrusts ALL of his money to a woman with a voluptuous body, to find him a connection within the army so he can climb the ranks. Of course, it was all a scam, and Tatsumi was broke in a single day. Having to sleep on the streets, he is picked up by a rich girl known as Aria, who brought him to live inside her house until Tatsumi found a way to sustain himself. It didn't take long for a bunch of assassins to break into Aria's house to murder her. First it was her guards, then her parents. Just as Aria was about to be killed, Tatsumi saved her. The assassins explained to Tatsumi that Aria's family had been doing really screwed up things in secret, and revealed a warehouse full of people getting tortured. Among those people...were Tatsumi's friends, Ieyasu and Sayo. Sayo was already dead, while Ieyasu was just about breathing his last. Lashing out in anger, Tatsumi cut down Aria without any remorse, and chose to join the assassins, who introduced themselves as Night Raid, a group dedicated to taking out the rotting scum within the capital.

So in the end did "Akame Ga Kill" accomplish its goal of being a dark shounen experience? I guess it did, there were plenty of moments that just want to make you go "Oh damn!". It sure isn't the normal happily ever after that we usually see in these types of shows, that much, at least I'm grateful for. Its just so silly that they decided to go along with their own ending, instead of following the manga book by book. Well, its not the first time something like that has happened int he anime industry, so what do I know?

Peace.

Yoshitsugu Matsuoka

This guy has been gaining so much fame ever since he made his breakthrough when he was given the "big role" of Kirito in "SAO". Well, he's got one of the more distinguishable voices amongst the male seiyuus, that much I am sure of. He's quite good for voicing protagonists, and as we can see, most of his roles are of main characters! Though in his defense, these guys have VERY varying personalities and they sound different enough. We've got the famous Kirito (SAO), the very regular/easily bashful guys in Sorata (The Pet Girl Of Sakurasou) and Godou (Campione), or the overly serious Akashi (M3:The Dark metal). He can also do pervertic guys like Arata (Trinity Seven) or Rabac (Akame Ga Kill), crazy, battle hungry sons of bitches like Jio (Blade Dance Of Elementalers), or a calm, cool composed young man like Ichijo (Mahouka). Also, he can channel his inner shouta idol with Shota (Idolmaster Series). Finally, my favorite role of his, Sora (No Game No Life), who's a badass, funny, cocky, scheming bastard of a guy.

Characters from left to right

1st row: Rabac (Akame Ga Kill), Shota (Idolmaster Series), Akashi (M3:The Dark Metal), Arata (Trinity Seven)

2nd row: Jio (Blade Dance Of Elementalers), Sorata (The Pet Girl Of Sakurasou), Ichijo (Mahouka), Godou (Campione)

3rd row: Kirito (Sword Art Online), Sora (No Game No Life)

Yoshino Nanjou

Here we are! Yoshino nanjou is not only a potent seiyuu with a brilliant voice, she's also the vocalist of the famed musical duo Fripside. She sings REALLY well, and to think that she can do great character voices as well! Her voice is pretty versatile, as the characters that she can do range from a variety of different types. She's really good with the middle school/high school girl archetype. She can go super cute with girls like Miyuki (Minami-Ke), she can play a seductive girl with Kudo (Baka Test Series), a kuudere loli villain girl with Shirabe (Senki Zesshou Symphogear G). She can play a semi rich girl/ojou sama type character with Eli (Love Live Series) or Maaya (To Aru Kagaku No Railgun). She' also does well with the "damsel of distress" with Maria (Canaan). Little Queen (Tales Of Graces F) is a great villain who sounds innocent enough. My favorite of her roles is Nio (Akuma No Riddle), the crazy evil girl assasin who plays her cards at the end.

Characters from left to right

1st row: Miyuki (Minami-Ke Tadaima), Kudo (Baka Test Series), Shirabe (Senki Zesshou Symphogear G)

2nd row: Maria (Canaan), Eli (Love Live Series)

3rd row: Maaya (To Aru Kagaku No Railgun), Nio (Akuma No Riddle), Little Queen (Tales Of Graces F)

Ayane Sakura

Ayane Sakura is also another seiyuu who's built her popularity not too long ago. For a "new" seiyuu who's only been in the business for a meager few years, she's got quite a few characters under her belt. More importantly though, she's another versatile one, as she's able to do characters of different types no problem. Like most female seiyuus of her age though, she's more adept at voices high school girls, in which she has no problem doing. Tsundere girls? She's got them covered with Kaisei (Uchoten Kazoku) and Suzuka (Tokyo Ravens). Kuuderes? She's got at least one with Linne (Under Night In Birth). She's also good at voicing girls with "strong voices", like Silvia (Dragonar Academy) and Mika (Psycho Pass II). Foreigners like Arisa (Love Live Series) are included, as well as a super shy moe archetype in Gasper (High School DXD New), whose also a guy. Super happy main heroines like Akane (Vividred Operation) and Merry (Yumekui Merry) also suit her well. Finally, we have a funny, teasy girl in Levi (Trinity Seven), a role which she's fairly new to.

Characters from left to right

1st row: Kaisei (Uchoten Kazoku), Arisa (Love Live Series), Suzuka (Tokyo Ravens), Gasper (High School DXD New)

2nd row: Linne (Under Night In Birth), Silvia (Dragonar Academy), Mika (Psycho Pass II), Levi (Trinity Seven), Akane (Vividred Operation), Merry (Yumekui Merry)

Nao Toyama

Nao Toyama is ALSO a rather new seiyuu, coming in at only 23 years old this year (holy shit). Anyway, I do like her voice, its so cute! I think it suits the moe/tsundere characters very well, and while she excels most in those character archetypes, she showed that she can do a variety of other types just fine. She can do kuudere characters like Vatista (Under Night In Birth) and Kayo (Sabagebu). Regular high school/cheery girls like Yukiho (Love Live Series), Chiho (Hataraku Maou Sama) or Kanon (The World God Only Knows) are also up her ally. Himiko (Nobunaga The Fool) is just mixture of pure cheerfulness and seriousness. Little Sister Maid (Maoyu) is PURE loli moe. Chitoge (Nisekoi) is 100% tsundere, and I guess Yui (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) has a little bit of tsundere in her as well. Liselotte (Trinity Seven) is a new favorite of mine from her, as she's a seductive, playful and naughty girl, a character archetype she has never done before. And damn, she does SO WELL with that voice.

Characters from left to right

1st row: Vatista (Under Night In Birth), Yukiho (Love Live Series), Himiko (Nobunaga The Fool), Little Sister Maid (Maoyu)

2nd row: Kayo (Sabagebu), Chitoge (Nisekoi), Kanon (The World God Only Knows)

3rd row: Chiho (Hataraku Maou Sama), Liselotte (Trinity Seven), Yui (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU)

Takuma Terashima

Not really the most versatile voice actor out there, but he has a very, very sexy male voice, that much I can assure you. Even as a guy, yes, I do think his voice is sexy. His characters do feel somewhat "same-y", but he does a good job making his characters sound good. I think he does well voicing the calculative, scheming bastard in Shiroe (Log Horizon), but he does a bunch of others as well. He can go funny guy with Kubo (Baka Test Series) or Aoki (Kokoro Connect). He can be a generic NEET protagonist with Shintaro (Mekaku City Actors), or a complete, fabulous, chuuni bastard in Kiryuu (Inou Battle Within Everyday Life). He's also a gangster badass delinquent in Wolf (Blood Lad), as well as a super star tsundere guy in Toma (Idolmaster). His most different character is probably Leo (Mahouka), since he's playing the big, tough guy who uses more brawn than brains, for once.

You all know "Psycho Pass", don't you? Its one of the more popular animes in the current years, and I can understand why (see my review for the first reason). Its a nice mix of sci-fi action and mystery, along with touching some very dark and sensitive topics. It ended well, at least that's what I thought, I never really expected a second season, story wise at least, it didn't need one. Regardless of what I think, here it is. "Psycho Pass II" is a good continuation of the original, but since its only 11 episodes long, half the length of the original, expect the show to be a lot less elaborate. Introducing new characters and a brand new story, "Psycho Pass II" plans to imitate its predecessor of being an epic sci fi story of massive proportions. For the most part, it succeeds, but since its only 11 episodes long, expect an experience that's less in depth, and arguably, a little bit more troublesome because of some of the new characters. Otherwise, its still "Psycho Pass", its a worthwhile experience if you're a fan of sci-fi stories.

Time to step out Kogami, the new guys will take it from here.

True to "Psycho Pass" fashion we have some pretty funky songs featured as the opening and ending theme. The opening theme is "Enigmatic Feeling" by Ling Tosite Sigure, which honestly is a HUGE step up from "Abnormalize" IMO. I'm not too big of a fan of Ling Tosite Sigure's songs, just because they sound a little but too high pitched for me, but "Enigmatic Feeling" nails it when it comes to epicness and feel. I like it, though the stock motion rewind style opening just feels extremely lazy, much more so than it is deep. The ending theme is just pure brilliance, nothing else. It is simply the best song I've heard from Egoist since "The Ever Lasting Guilty Crown". "Fallen" is just a perfect song for the overall dark tone of "Psycho Pass" and it works very well as an ending theme.

Rating: 8.0/10

To its demerit, "Psycho Pass II" is half the length that it should have been. That means that no matter how good a concept/story that they have in planned, its going to have to be short and simple. Too bad though, they decided to go for a similar, complex story with its share of twists and turns, which, under normal circumstances, would work well. Unfortunately, with only 11 episodes, the developers took a lot of "shortcuts" with their mysteries and problems, which kind of sucked. Also, there was a needless amount of slaughter and violence..."just cause its there". Anyway, other than that though, everything else is as it should be. Intense chase segments are top notch, and when the enforcers get to work, its always great to see. The new characters are a little sub-par and not really to my liking, though the old characters keep up the old standards (I hate the new inspector Mika). The music is amazing, and everything else remains top tier, as it should be. Its just the new story and characters that don't hold up. Don't get me wrong though, I do think that Kamui is an excellent new villain (maybe even on par with makishima, who is legendary).

Shut the f**k up Mika, nobody asked you.

The story again stars Akane Tsunemori, now the head of division 1, as she leads a new team of enforcers and inspector alike. With the departure of old friends, she now has new replacements working under her. Replacing Ginoza is Mika, a new inspector that was a victim in an old case a few years back. Replacing Kogami and the old man we have 2 new characters, Hinakawa, a quiet, nerdy hologram geek, and Togane, a Sebastion lookalike. After being on the same team for a few missions, Mika notices Akane's way of approach towards enforcers as an inspector, and realizes that she works differently from others. Because of this, she views Akane differently, and thinks that she should not act that way as an inspector. However, as Akane's understudy, she doesn't have much say in the matter. Things scale out of control when a junior inspector goes missing, with a painting of 2 letters, "WC", left at the site of the crime. When a new individual who has the ability to clear the hue of criminals by just TALKING to them, they know things are going to get messy. This godly man's name is Kamui, and like Makishima before him, his goal: to reform the Sibyl system.

"Psycho Pass II" is a great ride overall, but falls short as a sequel. Its still very fun to watch, and there are plenty of good segments, its only when you start to nitpick and look for the mistakes where you find the faults. There are too many shortcut explanations/solutions for a "full"experience, at least to me anyway. Well there's more to come, since a movie is on the way. Let's see what else this universe has to offer, because I DO want to see Mika die (how the f**k did she survive).

Peace.

And here it is. As I mentioned in my review, "Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax" was a game that could have been improved upon many times over in its console release. But, nevertheless, the core fighting was rather fun, and I loved the characters. Needless to say I've spent a lot of hours into developing/learning the ones that I really like (like I do in most fighting games), so I've played every character/against every character sufficiently enough to give my 2 cents about what I think.

Without further ado, let's dive into a proper look into the cast of "Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax". I may not be an expert with every character, but I do know enough for a general summary of how these guys fights. Let's go! ANIMEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shana

Shana is the equivalent of Zero from "MvC3" to "Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax". Alright....at least a little bit. Her attacks are generally very fast and since she's a rushdown character, she's always in your face most of your time. Her pressure game is pretty strong, with great mobility ranging from quick air dashes to multiple jumps. Her combos flow easily both on the ground and in the air, once she gets in on you, its hard to get out. Her combos are really not too difficult to learn, if anything, though it'll take awhile for you to actually rake in damage with her.

Shana is one of those characters that has a little bit of everything (despite excelling at rushdown). Her normals have nice range, she has a fireball type move and a mid screen overhead for her to get in on her opponents if she catches them. Despite all that, her base damage isn't the highest, and since her trump is the blue card, its very hard for newcomers to fully take advantage of her maximum potential. She's more of an intermediate character. Because of her mobility its easy for her to catch up to zoners, but if she falls behind its generally hard for her to come back. Her climax arts aren't too amazing, though they do just fine as follow ups in combos.

+ Great rushdown character
+ Combo potential is high, especially with use of trump
+ Great mobility
+ Has a little bit of everything
+ Overall has good pressure

- Hard to reach her maximum potential
- Generally easy to fall behind against zoners

Asuna

I generally don't enjoy Asuna as a character, but she's honestly really fun to fool around with. Her abilities are so straightforward and one dimensional, its sometimes fun to just chip and corner someone with her Flash Penetrator and Shooting Star. Honestly, she doesn't have a lot going for her other than some mid screen pressure. It seriously scares the living sh*t out of someone trying to come in on you, and if you connect with a proper assist, you can follow up for some pretty decent damage. Asuna isn't really a hard character to use per say when it comes to execution, but to properly play her against a good opponent, its more mind games than anything,

Asuna is mostly a close range melee character, but her rushdown is actually quite terrible when compared to many other characters that share similar play styles. Its hard for her to get in on someone without a godly assist, BUT, its oh so easy for her to PUNISH others for trying to come in on her instead. Hell, her pressure with Flash Penetrator is pretty damn high, and can punish other players for being too aggressive. She can't close gaps safely though, keep that in mind, Flash Penetrator is NOT safe, and wrong usage of that ability can get you punished, hard. Her trump is red, so it does do a lot of damage, but the range is pretty crappy, so you have to take note of that. Her climax arts are hard to connect normally, and she has no projectiles. You'll need to play smart with Asuna, but when you get the hang of things, she exerts some pretty good pressure as long as you learn to keep the distance.

+ Very strong at punishing aggressive players
+ Mid screen pressure is quite strong with the correct assists
+ Easy to confirm for some good damage

- No projectiles
- Gap closers aren't safe
- Smart players stay the f**k away and play very carefully against you, forcing you to take the offensive

Kirino Kosaka

Kirino is among the best characters in the game right now, ironically enough. She is...SO GOOD in so many departments, its not even fair. For a dopey, happy go lucky little sister, she sure has a hell lot of tools to fool around with. Opponents playing too safe? Don't worry, her rushdown potential and pressure game are all pretty solid, she can just go in ham on her opponents . Opponents playing too aggressively? Spam the crap out of panties and boxes to keep them the f**k away while you catch your breath. She has a whole lot of options to deal with all sorts of opponents, and because of that super well-rounded nature that she brings along, she just wins so many matchups. She is just THAT good, and because of that, she isn't exactly hard to use properly either, her standard BnBs already do a ton of damage.

Kirino has really high combo potential for someone who does so much damage. Not only that, but she has plenty of ways to hit confirm into combos. Her normals are SO GOOD, some even stretching across multiple frames and hit from a mile away. Her climax arts are also superb, both of which allowing for some really, REALLY simple follow up in combos. If all else fails, she has a cheap ass projectile spam ability that's very random and sometimes hard for the enemy to deal with if they're trying to get in on your face. And since so many of her moves are safe, she rarely needs support to cover up, thus she can freely use them offensively. Also, her freaking trump card attack is a command grab, which is insane since its red, and it does a hell lot of damage. She can even combo into this, crazy.

+ Has a lot of tools at her disposal
+ Very strong at almost everything
+ Generally very offensive while staying safe
+ Some of the best normals available in the game
+ One of the best characters in the game

- Easy to bait as some characters

Shizuo Heiwajima

Unfortunately for the bros, Shizuo isn't a very good character. I might even go as far as to say that he's the...worst in the game? Might be an overstatement, but I think that Shizuo has too much issues when compared to the rest of the cast. His combo potential is really limited. His damage is straight out beast, sure, but you're going to need to try hard to actually land a meaningful hit on your opponents. Shizuo is a very faceroll character, unfortunately, he doesn't have a lot of tools to let him faceroll his opponents. Against a good opponent, you'll need to try really hard. His damage spike is pretty insane when he's closer to death, but once again, if you don't land the hit, it doesn't matter.

For Shizuo to start a combo and go crazy, his hit confirmation process can be a pain. I mean, he CAN hit his opponents, but whether or not that hit confirms into a respectable combo is a whole different story. As mentioned before, he is 99% melee and needs to be in your face, but his gap closing options are mediocre. He has a ranged projectile where he throws a mailbox, but that won't amount to much in most situations, and its not exactly safe as well. He has a command grab, but again, he won't be in range to do it. His dive kick semi works, but its not safe to just randomly throw around, so you're screwed. Unless your enemies come to you, Shizuo has trouble, and even then, he gets outmaneuvered since his normals are also not the best. You'll really need to rely on baits and your supports on this one. Rest assured though, when Shizuo gets a hit in, its going to hurt.

+ Does good damage with easy BnB combos
+ Command grab
+ Will bash your face in if you get close to him

- Has trouble closing in on opponents
- Lackluster mobility
- Hard to fight against an opponent that constantly exerts pressure

Misaka Mikoto

As much as I love Misaka, I'm not a fan of her play style in "Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax". Does that mean she's a bad character? Well, obviously not. Instead of a simple rushdown character or a spamming zoner type, Misaka is a character that controls the field from a distance. Its hard to close in on her, especially if she picks a defensive support to counteract her mostly defensive play style. She punishes overly aggressively opponents from far away, and can maintain distance easily with most of her abilities. Hell, some of her moves even help KNOCK opponents away or have her move rather long distances instantly. Her normals aren't the best up close, so its easier for her to pick her fights from afar. Her damage isn't on the high side, but at least its easier for her to get hits on her enemies than some other characters.

She has a lot of pokes that are fairly safe. Her range is quite obscene and makes it hard for some characters to come in on her, and, as mentioned earlier, if backed up by a defensive support character, she's SO hard to close the gap upon. On the other hand, its easy for her to close the gap on her opponents or further expand that gap, she's great at controlling the field like that. Her heavy holds serve as great poke material, especially crouching [C], for hit confirmations into Railgun for EASY damage. Speaking of Railgun, I think its one of the best climax arts in the game, being an instant, full screen powerful attack. Its easy to combo into from afar and can easily be used to punish other characters for throwing out random attacks. Electro shot is a mid ranged poke, while Magnetic Move allows her to zone accordingly. Her trump even knocks opponents far away, while still doing respectable damage (easily one of my favorite trumps in the game).

+ Very strong zone control
+ Good poke/far ranged hit confirmation
+ Railgun is a very, VERY powerful climax art

- Can be tough for her to deal with high pressure rush down characters

Kuroyukihime

Kuroyukihime is easily the hardest character in the game to use, tied to Miyuki. She is hard to use, and that's why you rarely see her online, but of course, good Kuroyukihimes are absolutely terrifying. She has different variations on her different attacks and they have different propeties. She's more of a trick character, and relies on mix-ups/teleports to do most of her works, like Wesker or Hazama. Her damage is a little bit on the low side, but that has never been her forte anyway. She excels with, of course, mix-ups, and while she can do fine by herself, she becomes VERY hard to deal with when she uses some offensive assists. Her mobility is sub par, so you'll need to play around with her teleport to abuse the hell out of her mix-ups. She's one of the strongest characters in the game to close the gap against zone type characters.

As stated, Kuroyukihime plays differently based on the various modes that she's in. Unlike many other characters, her trump allows her to switch modes, between Red, Green or Blue. Each of these modes grants her different benefits, mostly which come from her variety of moves. Playing around these modes give her a better offensive plan against her foes, though having to switch modes can be a pain at times and once you settle on a color, that's it, unless you feel like burning another trump (which isn't recommended). Other than that though, she has no projectiles, but she doesn't really suffer too much from that because she closes gaps rather easily and can catch others off guard. Her climax arts aren't the best though, since they can be rather hard to fit into a combo without proper use of an assist.

+ Strong mix-up game by herself, further amplified by supports
+ Different modes gives her different benefits on certain moves
+ Can close gaps easily, despite her bad mobility

- Very hard to use properly
- Mobility is bad outside of teleports (random teleports can be punished)

Tomoka Minato

Everybody's favorite basketball loli is here to f**k shit up. Tomoka is POWERFUL, for a little elementary school girl that's only weapon is a basketball, she sure packs a hell of a punch. I started to use Tomoka a fair bit, because of her simple rush down play style and her high damaging combos. The best thing about Tomoka, she's not exactly a very execution heavy character. Sure she's harder than the likes of Kirino, Asuna or Shizuo, but she's easy enough for you to press a couple of buttons and she'll start tossing people around like a rag doll. Her offensive potential on the ground is great, though her air game leaves a lot to be desired (no air dash). She's great on the ground, not so much in the air, consider that into your strategy, work around it and Tomoka is a solid character.

The thing about Tomoka is that once she catches you in a combo, you're in for a whole lot of hurt. Her individual attacks don't do a whole lot, but her combo strings are so easy to connect and can go on for...extended periods of time, even longer with assists. As mentioned, she isn't an execution heavy character, her moves leave you a lot of leeway and time to follow up properly. That's because her specials, which usually involve Tomoka summoning her team mates, are very powerful and each act as assists of their own, opening up for combo opportunities and much more. She has a lot of opportunities to get in on her opponents (she has some unblockables), and her combos connect well into her climax arts. Her trump is one of the best ones in the game, I feel.

+ Great ground work and powerful combos
+ Her teammates are practically mini assists
+ Very powerful trump
+ Lots of combo opportunities

- Not so good in the air
- Short range normals

Kirito

Kirito is easily the most played character online, at least from what I have seen. I knew "SAO" was popular, but come on, this is too much. Character wise though, Kirito looks really cool, that's probably why people want to learn him. Dual wield seems like an awesome mechanic, but here's the truth that hurts guys, that's all Kirito has going for him. Outside of dual wielding, he's just not a very good character. His normals are mediocre (even with dual wield, they aren't too fantastic), his combos are limited, and he doesn't do a lot of damage. He's simply outclassed as a rushdown character without dual wield. Make no mistake though, as long as he's dual wielding, he can, and he WILL kick ass. At least a good support can cover for his weaknesses OUTSIDE of dual wielding.

Kirito is a fairly simple character. He functions primarily as a rushdown character, so that means he wants to be in the enemy's face at all times. He has a mid range gap closer and an ability to block projectiles. Both can be followed up by new attacks when they connect, luckily, these are easy to slot into any combo. In dual wield mode (which is Kirito's trump), Kirito becomes a beast. His normals do more damage, his combos start looking ridiculous just by pressing buttons in the middle of specials, and his overall damage output increases by a ton. If you pull off a last minute dual wield when near death, the damage output can get rather insane. His climax arts are also pretty damn good, as they can easily be used as combo finishers. Let's be honest, starburst stream is a pretty sick super.

+ Extremely potent in dual wield mode
+ Huge comeback potential by kicking in dual wield when close to death
+ Good specials and powerful climax arts

- Pretty mediocre outside of dual wield mode
- Hard to close the gap sometimes

Taiga Aisaka

I really like Taiga, I really do. Unfortunately, the palm top tiger has seen better days. She's a rushdown character with plenty of unorthodox moves, but those don't necessarily help her too much when it comes down to it. Her damage is also on the low side, which I didn't expect. However, she does compensate with some pretty damn good normals (especially for a melee rushdown character) and safe specials. Taiga, while not exactly very good on the offensive (even though she's supposed to be), is a very safe character. Also, thanks to her long ranged normals, she can easily hit confirm and follow up into something that she likes. Her combos don't do a lot of damage, so she'll be looking for offensive supports to extend her combos, since she is already rather safe on her own.

To her credit, Taiga has plenty of gap closing options. Her specials are mostly used in combos, and can also function as a gap closer (I'm referring to the snow sled attack). She has plenty of opportunities for easy OTGs, and that's always good: you always want to extend combos as Taiga to be able to see the damage. What also work for Taiga rather well are her trump and climax arts. Her trump works similarly to Misaka's, where it has nice range, does damage, and knocks the enemies far away (Taiga wants to control space with her long ranged normals). Her climax arts also do a ton of damage and can easily be chained in combos, especially "You're Pissing Me Off!".

+ Long ranged normals
+ Is a very safe character
+ Good trump and climax arts
+ Can gap close decently well

- Low damage on most moves
- Pretty much works only with offensive supports
- Struggles against opponents who can safely outrange her normals with no penalty

Miyuki Shiba

Miyuki is the hardest character to use in the game to me, tied with Kuroyukihime. Let me just say that I absolutely LOATH her play style, even though I love "Mahouka", Miyuki's boring zone control game play just isn't for me. Even though there aren't many Miyukis online, whenever I go against one, he/she is usually really good. And trust me, if a Miyuki player is good, they can be downright FRUSTRATING to go against (just like a good Kuroyukihime). She may be fragile, she may not be the fastest of characters, but a Miyuki that's standing behind a strong defensive wall support is a BITCH to play against. When it comes to zoning, Miyuki's probably the star character in this game, and if you go against her as a rushdown character without a plan, you're going to cry.

Her normals have nice range, though they don't a lot of damage. Because of this, her follow up combos can come rather easily if you were punished nearby with one of her many zoning moves. On the ground she has Floral Lock (the snow flake move), and in the air she has Gungnir (the ice pillar). Think of these as Dormammu esque zoning techniques, each with its own varying range, and if used with meter, will auto lock on you, which is ridiculously annoying if Miyuki uses it to punish you. If she's nearby, she can follow up with combos, since most of these zoning moves are multi-hitting. Good luck trying to get to Miyuki though, she has plenty of ways to get around, though she isn't too fast. Her trump, in my opinion, is the best trump in the game. The damn thing auto tracks, comes out instantly, does a ton of damage, is an overhead AND is unblockable in the air. Inferno is also a fantastic climax art.

+ Powerful zoning, especially behind a defensive support
+ Most zoning moves hit multiple times, allowing Miyuki for combos if she's close by
+ Can use meter for auto tracking abilities
+ Trump is incredibly broken

- Is fragile and loses out to most other characters close range
- Very hard to use properly

Yukina Himeragi

Ugh...here comes another annoying one. Himeragi is once again, a rushdown-centric character that focuses on melee combos to chip you out. However, there is a twist to her. See that long spear she's using? Yep, you guessed it. Himeragi's normals and specials have ridiculously long range for someone who fights up close, and she can very easily punish anyone who tries too all in her without giving things too much thought, since she can very easily outrange them, hit confirm, pull them in for a combo of her own. Playing another rushdown character against her can get rather disadvantageous, so you'll need to devise of a plan to actually go in on her. With all this in mind, Himeragi is an excellent rushdown character that's easy to use, has the range advantage over others, and is a slut. Perfect for beginners. Of course, she has her weaknesses.

For one, while Himeragi's damage isn't exactly on the low side, she DOES have problems dealing with enemies in the air. Her range is good, but her anti air game sucks, she does not much options against those approaching her from the air unless she takes to the air herself, or burns meter on Strike The Blood, which is wasteful if it doesn't punish the opponent. Rest assured, she's no slouch in the air, with Arrow Strike, she can close gaps if needed, and have a variety of possible follow ups at her disposal. Her trump also has good range, but has a rather long startup compared to other offensive trumps. End of story: she's a solid character that's really good at what she does, mid ranged combos that lead to a world of pain.

+ Long ranged normals
+ Outclasses a lot of short ranged rushdown characters
+ Has ways to gap close if needed
+ Easy to use

- Not a lot of good anti air options

Satomi Rentarou

Rentaro is a f**king boss, and also my main. Like many other characters in the cast, he's a mostly melee rushdown character that has a little bit of shoto elements in him. His damage is pretty damn ridiculous, which is probably there to compensate for his pathetic, short ranged normals. If you can get past those, you get a character that's easy to use (but hard to master), can do a ton of damage with standard BnB combos and gives a ton of different varieties to approach different situations. Rentaro is strong up close, and that's where he excels best. He can also chip away with his pistol, which is actually a nice poke projectile. His trump is also a cancel, the only one in the whole game. This sets him up for a ton of baits and potential combos.

Rentaro is short ranged, so he needs to get up close and personal to murder his foes. However, his gap closers are generally unsafe, so if you want to get in on your foes, be prepared to either sacrifice meter or Terminal Horizon to bait and punish them. EX Homura Kasen is a brilliant way to extend combos, though it tends to eat up meter. He has a ground bounce via his shoulder bash special, and has tons of ways to extend combos. His climax arts are also ridiculously powerful, PLUS, both work very well as combo finishers. Unlimited Burst is an excellent OTG, and Final Strike fits into almost any ground combo. As always, Terminal Horizon is your best friend, though most of the time, you're going to use it defensively to bait out opponents. If it wasn't obvious enough, offensive supports work best with Rentaro.

+ High damage combos
+ Easy to learn
+ Has plenty of ways to extend combos
+ Terminal Horizon is amazing
+ Very good Climax arts that can be used in most combos

- Short ranged
- Can't close gaps safely
- Pretty much needs an offensive support

Akira Yuki

Akira is a character that I didn't really like. But since he's Sega's poster boy for their star fighting game, "Virtual Fighter", I can see why he made it in (since Sega plays a huge part in the game and all). In a game full of weird characters from different animes, Akira actually sticks out like a sore thumb. His play style is similar to that of his own games, but transitioned into a 2D plane. Honestly, he feels really awkward at first, but once you get used to him, he's actually really simple to play effectively. His combos are easy to execute, they do a lot of damage, and he has quite a lot of tools to deal with the majority of the characters in the game. He's certainly a fun and unique addition to the characters in the cast.

Akira is a strong, strong melee man. If you fight him head to head, prepare to eat A LOT of damage if you don't block properly. His combos are easy, they can strike at close range, and they tend hurt like hell. His lack of a proper running hurts his mobility in the long run, BUT for close ranged encounters, his step dashing actually helps him kite some characters with short ranged normals. He combos really well into his specials and trump...and my god his trump...its SO annoying. It comes out so insanely fast, and it does so much damage. As long as Akira stays in the melee game, he kicks ass. He has weaknesses though, his anti air on the ground is pretty solid, but if you take him into the air, he's pretty bad. Also, without a projectile move or ways to close in on zoners, he needs a cover/offensive support to really set him up.

+ Beginner friendly
+ Very high damage and easy combos
+ Step dashes help against melee matchups

- Step dashes don't help against zone control type characters
- No projectiles
- Needs an offensive assist to cover him as he closes gaps

Selveria Bles

Selveria is sexy. She's not as out of place in the game as Akira is (technically, "Valkyria Chronicles" has an anime adaptation), and to be fair, her play style fits more in this game. Selveria is a big woman, compared to the other girls in this game, who range from elementary school girls, middle school girls, to high school girls, so it makes sense that she should stomp on all of them. Luckily for her, she's a very powerful character, and one that doesn't take a lot of skill as well (must be a trend with the boss characters). She's a mid ranged control based character, somewhat similar to Himeragi, but less offensive and more reactive instead. She has a lot of positive matchups in my opinion, and with tools to deal with plenty of situations, she can triumph the field in the right hands.

Selveria main source of damage comes from her mid ranged combos. I say mid ranged because her normals have some great range (look at that lance), and she can safely poke out most close ranged characters and hit confirm into her combos, which are fairly easy to take advantage of. She has a lot of tools to deal with other types of characters as well, and she excels especially well against the zone control characters. She has a simple projectile spam special, a teleport, and 2 universal techniques that can easily punish characters from afar (her trump is so unfair against zone control types that aren't Misaka).  She's a character with a lot of pressure by just BEING there, and if you try anything against her incorrectly, she will punish you, hard. Because of her all rather offensive nature, she works having a defensive support to cover her just in case she needs it, or an offensive support to make it easier for her to go in.

+ Very strong damage output
+ Long reaching normals
+ Easy, full screen punish with trump that does an insane amount of damage
+ Lots of tools to deal with close ranged fighters and zoners
+ Rather beginner friendly

- Gap closers are generally not safe
